Player Bio

An exciting wicket-keeping batter who rose through the ranks of domestic cricket, Yastika Bhatia started playing cricket from the age of 11 and made a fifty against U-14 boys.

Yastika was one among 25 other girls who were chosen from the nooks and corners of India for the National Cricket Academy U19 camp. Her skills didn’t go unnoticed, her sportsmanship and reliable wicket-keeping skills earned her the title of the skipper of the West Zone’s Women Cricket team.

played a major role in Baroda’s ultimate victory in the West Zone U19, a One-day tournament in 2016. She had everyone on the edge of their seats as she single-handedly scored 230 runs. In 2019, the Baroda-born made a splendid 145 against Haryana in which Baroda scored 300 plus for the first time in the U-23 Women’s One-day league.

After that in the MCA camp, against India A bowlers, she made 64 not out which was a turning point in her career. The Gujarat cricketer was selected in India A squad for Sri Lanka and Bangladesh tours. Two years down the lane, her dream of representing India came true when she was picked up for the limited-overs series against South Africa Women in February 2021, although she didn’t play.

Yastika draws her inspiration from Adam Gilchrist and Smriti Mandhana, both of whom she is a devout fan of. The young prodigy loves batting for longer periods of time and is an exciting cricketer in the making.
