Player Bio

This Gujarat wicketkeeper-batsman made his debut in Test cricket against England at the age of 17 back in 2002 after which he rose to prominence owing to his consistent performances. He is a regular contender currently for a spot in the Indian national team.

Patel led the Gujarat side in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy. Patel's 143 was the highest in a successful chase in a Ranji Trophy final. The win also made Gujarat the first team and Patel the first captain to have won all three major domestic titles. In July 2018, he was named as the captain for India Green for the 2018-19 Duleep Trophy.

The baby faced wicket-keeper batsman has been part of Indian Premier League since its inception and he's been part of most franchises. He was a part of Chennai Super Kings for the first three seasons of the IPL delivering some important performances as an opener.  At the IPL 2018 auction, RCB brought him to the squad and fast forward to 2020, he is still a part of the RCB gang.
