Until16th-17th over we thought we were in a good place but things were not for us today. Today is a disappointing day for us. We have done nicely as a team throughout."

Chasing 159 against the Barmy Army women's, Chamari Athapaththu started the innings with pace and she just took Tara Norris on in the very second over. Although Falcons lost the experienced Danni Wyatt cheaply at the start, the chase was not difficult because off the dazzling Chamari. She got the anchoring of Suzie Bates and started taking the bowlers on. The remarkable thing is, they maintained over 8 runs a over every time. Bates was struggling for his 21 ball 17 run knock but Chamari was so explosive that it compensated.
When Teertha Satish came and played a knock of 17 ball 15, the chase was very much on the cards for the Falcons. The 15th over from Belbashi was fruitful for Barmy team as they scalped a couple of wickets. But Marizanne Kapp(23*) and Mariko Hill(19*) pair were extremely in form and chased down the required 39 runs within just 19 balls in their partnership.
Earlier coming to bat, Deandra Dottin's handy 42 run knock and useful unbeaten 45 from Fatima Sana helped Barmy Army Women's to reach 158-8 in their 20 overs. Marizanne Kapp's 3-18 bowling figure was instrumental for Falcons. Mariko Hill also took 3 wickets.
Chamari Athapaththu's 78 was the key in the run chase. Striking at 156 in a 8 run per over chase always is a plus always.
