That concludes the presentation and it also wraps up our coverage of the 1st Semi-final of FairBreak Invitational Women T20 2023The Warriors Women become the first team to qualify for the Finals this season with a victory over the Spirit Women. More FairBreak T20 action coming up as Barmy Army Women take on Falcons Women in the second Semi-final shortly. Do join us there. For now, this is Megh Mandaliya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide, and our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Cheers!
Sindhu Sriharsha (Warriors Women Skipper): "Our bowlers did a fantastic job. Bryce has been the standout performer for us in this tournament. It has been a great turnaround for her. It's a quick turnaround but we are up for the challenge and will step up tomorrow and hopefully, we will lift the trophy."
Nicola Carey (Spirit Women Skipper): "No, we certainly were not looking for a loss today. But they were really good with the ball up front and we just could not build any partnerships. We were quite a few runs short but our girls did a good job with the ball. Not our greatest performance today. I think the wicket was a little bit tacky. All their bowlers were excellent. We have had two weeks here and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We have one more game and hopefully, we can finish on a high."
Kathryn Bryce (Player of the Match): "It's good to get over the line. It's exciting to head to the finals. We had a couple of days off but great to qualify for the final and looking forward to it."

Time for the post-match presentation.
9:56 AM IST | That’s it! We have our first finalists of FairBreak Invitational Womens T20 2023. The Warriors Women have overpowered the Spirit Women by 4 wickets in the first semi-final of the competition. The table-toppers did stutter in the chase but a magnificent bowling performance has cruised them to the Finals. After attaining the wooden spoon last season, this has been a brilliant turnaround from the Sindhu Sriharsha-led side.

Pursuing a paltry total of 74, Hayley Kristen Matthews and Phoebe Litchfield spearheaded the innings for the Warriors and the duo started the innings on an assertive note. The left-hander Litchfield started the assault in the second over of the innings and went after experienced Ayabonga Khaka. Matthews soon followed her way and smashed  Mahika Gaur for a massive six.

However, the left-armer Gaur was quick to get her revenge as she dismissed Matthews the very next delivery for 8(6). Gaur bagged another wicket in the same over by getting rid of Ellie Johnston 1(3) with the help of some extra bounce. Skipper Sindhu Sriharsha then joined forces with Litchfield and deaccelerated the innings. The left-right duo was not able to carve gaps on this sluggish surface and skipper Sriharsha eventually succumbed to the building pressure and departed after a scratchy inning of 3(17).

Sophia Dunkley was introduced into the attack in the 9th over and she has an immediate impact as the right-arm spinner got better off Litchfield for 21(22). Reeling at 35/4, Mignon du Preez and Kathryn Bryce then joined forces and provided the resurgence to the Warriors’ innings. The duo kept moving the scorecard at a decent rate before Bryce went all guns blazing in the 12th over and almost finished the game.

The 38-run partnership was ceased by Dunkley as she removed Bryce for 26(18) and that was followed by another quick wicket of Yasmeen Khan 0(2). However, the Warriors only required one run by then it was Mignon du Preez 8*(11), who secured the winning runs for her side.

Earlier in the day, Shamilia Connell boosted the Warriors to a perfect start by dismissing Sarah Jennifer Bryce for a golden duck in the first over of the contest. Sophia Dunkley batted with an aggressive approach following the early departure of Bryce. The English opener counterattacked before she was outdone by Jess Kerr for 16(16).

Two early wickets dented Spirit’s progress and they finished the powerplay on 33/2. Natthakan Chantham and Bismah Maroof got together and soaked up the pressure but they were unable to rotate the strike frequently. The sluggish 21-run partnership was ended by Amanda-Jade Wellington as got the massive wicket of Marooof 6(14).

Following Marooof’s wicket, the Spirits drifted away from the contest and lost wickets in clusters. They struggled to stitch a partnership in the middle and the Warriors’ bowlers kept bowling in the right areas. Eventually, they were skittled out on only 73 in the first innings. Jess Kerr was the pick of the bowlers for the Warriors and finished her stint on 11/3. Stick around for the post-match presentation!

Umpire check for a stumping! Fair delivery to start off. This a really tight. Khan's backfoot was still in the air when Bryce dislodged the bails. OUT has been signaled.
12.6 S Dunkley to Y Khan
W Tossed up leg-break outside off, Khan goes for a drive through the off side but gets beaten on the outside edge. Her back leg drags out of the ground in the process and the keeper is quick to collect it and whip the bails. Khan tries to get her foot back in the crease but the keeper is interested in this one. She appeals and the decision is sent upstairs.
12.5 S Dunkley to Y Khan
0 Tossed up outside off, Khan looks to lift it over mid off but gets beaten by the away turn.

12.4 S Dunkley to K Bryce
W In the air and taken. Bryce departs while trying to finish things in style. Flighted delivery outside off, Bryce steps out of the crease and looks to slog sweep it but ends up miscuing it. Gaur at mid off settles under this high ball and takes a good catch with a reverse cup. Bryce will be disappointed with herself on not finising the game.
12.3 S Dunkley to K Bryce
0 Short and well outside off, Bryce cuts it straight to cover point.
12.2 S Dunkley to K Bryce
6 SIXXXX!!!! That's a lovely shot from Bryce. Tossed up delivery on the stumps, Bryce gets down on one knee and slog sweeps it nicely over the mid wicket fence for a biggie. That came right off the middle of the bat and the ball sails out of the ground.
