That’s a wrap from our side as well. We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentator Ninaad Dixit and Scorer/Analyst Suresh Kumawat, I, Deepak Prakash, am signing off. Please join us for the other fixtures across the world. CHEERS!
2:02 AM IST | Deepak: Surrey's bowlers staged a remarkable comeback in the second half of the innings, showcasing excellent skills and determination. Their collective effort resulted in a comprehensive victory, winning the match by a margin of 28 runs. Somerset were in a commanding position till the first half of the innings but they triggered a massive collapse in the second half of the innings, and they had to bear the brunt of it.

Previously, following an invitation to bat, Surrey posted a formidable 195 runs in 20 overs. They got off to a flying start as both their openers, Will Jacks and Laurie Evans, played with authority and forged 71 runs for the first wicket. However, they lost wickets in quick succession in the middle overs, but a swashbuckling inning from Chris Jordan helped Surrey touch the 195-run mark. Jordan tore apart Matt Henry in the penultimate over of the innings and remained unbeaten on 36 runs off a mere 12 balls.

Chasing Surrey's challenging total of 195 runs, Somerset had a disappointing start to their innings. They lost the wickets of Will Smeed and Tom Kohler-Cadmore early on, with Smeed scoring only 8 runs and Kohler-Cadmore contributing just 9 runs. By the 4th over, Somerset found themselves struggling at 30/2.

Tom Banton and Tom Abell initiated a recovery for Somerset, scoring runs at a rapid rate and putting their team in a commanding position. However, despite their efforts, fate intervened unfavorably. Banton was dismissed after scoring 53 runs, while Abell departed for 39 runs. Following the departure of the well-set batsmen, Somerset suffered a significant collapse, losing wickets in succession. In the end, they were restricted to 167/9 at the end of 20 overs.

From the bowling front, Sam Curran shone with the ball for Surrey as he bagged 5 wickets and gave away a mere 26 runs in 4 overs. Chris Jordan chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Gus Atkinson contributed one wicket to Somerset's downfall.
