This was yet another entertaining night for the cricket fans. Sussex was totally outplayed by Essex but they will try to forget this game and come back strong for the next match. Do join us tomorrow for another day of T20 Blast. Until then, this is Shubham Agarwal signing off along with Akshay Bhide and Yogesh Kumar.
Essex win the match by runs! The chase just didn't start at all for Sussex. Cook dismissed the Sussex skipper, Ravi Bopra at 1 and after that it was Harmer who did the damage with the hat-trick and reduced Sussex at 15/4 and ended the match with a 4-fer. Mattew Critchley bowled a brilliant spell as well, taking 3 for 28 in his 4 overs. Tom Clark(31 off 21) did fight for a bit but was eventually dismissed by Crutchley. Carter(27 off 23) played a good little cameo in the end and tried to take his team over the line but it was too much to ask for in the end.

From the first innings, it was a fine bowling effort from Sussex as they restricted Essex to 163/7. Feroze Khushi(55 off 38) looked solid at the crease and played some fantastic shots. Sams followed him as Sussex pulled back things in the middle phase. Robin Das(31 off 26) and Simon Harmer(21 off 17) had a crucial partnership and added some valuable runs to take their team to a competitive total. Shadab Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Sussex, taking 3 wickets for 28 runs in his spell. Tymal Mills also took a couple of wickets.
18.4 D Sams to O Carter
W Knocks him over. Sams finishes things in style as he picks the final wicket. Bowls a slower delivery on the stumps, Carter takes his front leg out of the way and looks to heave it into the leg side but misses and the ball crashes on the stumps. With this, Essex beat Sussex by 25 runs.
