Earlier in the day, Lancashire won the toss and elected to bat first. But things weren't going as they would have liked. Inside the powerplay, they were down to 48 for three. Spinners got purchased off the surface as they had all the wickets under their belt. They hardly let the batter play the shots. Batters were forced to try something different and lose their wickets. They hardly had any partnership going to take to a flighting score.
Hartley looked dangerous but got out to a stunner catch taken by Brookes. Apart from him, Liam, Mitchell, and Croft got starts but couldn't capitalize to make a big score. Briggs had his four and Mousley his third.
While chasing the target, Warwickshire were at their ease. Openers took time as Davies and Yates took their time. They kept on playing percentage cricket and took a little risk. They took chances whenever the bowlers pitched short, outside off line.
After the powerplay, they stood at 47 runs for none. Then Lancashire introduced spin and got rewards. Two back-to-back wickets instilled some hope. Wells joined the party as he picked Sam Hain when 13 runs were needed. But Davies held the innings from one end to ensure Warwickshire had their victory secured.
