01:50 AM IST| Glamorgan have started their T20 Blast campaign with a victory. They have won this encounter by 2 wickets.

Earlier in the game, Glamorgan won the toss and invited Gloucestershire to bat first. They got off to a rusty start but a good knock of 56 by Ben Charlesworth and a short cameo of 32 runs by Graeme Van Buuren helped Gloucestershire to get to a total of 161 runs.

Douthwaite was the pick of the bowlers for Glamorgan as he ended with figures of 4/23 in 4 overs. Mcllroy chipped in with 3 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs

Coming to the chase Glamorgan lost two wickets at a score of just 17 runs. Kiran Carlson and Colin Ingram steered the sinking ship for Glamorgan this duo orchestrated a partnership of 69 runs off just 37 balls. This duo started scoring at a brisk rate and were way ahead of the required run rate.

Skipper Carlson departed after scoring 35 runs in 20 balls. The wickets started tumbling down for Glamorgan. It looked like Glamorgan batters were just throwing the wickets away in the urge of finishing off the chase quickly.

Colin Ingram walked back after scoring 47 runs in 33 balls. The boundaries started draining out and pressure was building on the Glamorgan.
But in the end, they held their nerves and got over the line. 15 runs were needed off 12 balls.

Ruaidhri Smith on the last over of the penultimate over smacked a six and boiled down the equation. Six runs were needed off the last over and T van der Gugten finished off in style with a maximum. He played a short cameo of 21* runs off 12 balls and took his team over the line.

David Payne was the pick of the bowler for Gloucestershire as he scalped 3 wickets and gave away just 17 runs in his 4-over spell.
