So, that's it from this game which was the El Clasico, Chennai Super Kings complete the double over the Mumbai Indians for the first time since 2014 and first win over MI since 2010. They climb upwards in the points table. Switch tabs to follow the next game between DC and RCB from Delhi. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentators AkshayaKrishna Polya, and Ninaad Dixit alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Matheesha Pathirana (Player of the Match): "Really, it started from last year. I played two games in two seasons and now playing regularly. I am happy. They give me confidence and still do even today. Really, this is my best T20 figures in my career. So, I am happy. The eyes thing celebration is natural and I am a die hard fan of Christiano Ronaldo. So, happy to contribute for the team and hope to do it moving forward for my team."
MS Dhoni (Chennai Super Kings Captain): "I think it was a very crucial game for a simple reason as the middle part of the points table is stacked well and in T20 what we have seen that you may play good cricket but you may have an off day because opposition plays brilliant cricket so you need to have a cushion. Its not something we can get comfortable with as 5-6 teams are around the same points and one other thing is few others will play each other as the tournament progresses. Last few games, the result hasn't gone in our favor whether its the Lucknow game which was washed out so its good to be on the winning side.

I was slightly doubtful, I wanted to bat first so the think tank said there is a chance of rain. By the time rain comes, major part of the game will be done with. I was slightly outnumbered so I went with majority.

That's been our strength. If there is some kind of confusion then we will sit and talk about it. Its not about who has said what. Ultimately we decide what's best for the team and you try to go with the majority. I felt the wicket will slow down and initially it is very good to bat on. That was the reason behind it.

People who don't have a very clean action, batters find difficult to pick them. In a format like this where you have to go after a bowler, it makes slightly difficult. That is just on the action part. We are not talking about the pace and variation he has. All those things make him very special. I personally feel he should not play a lot of red ball cricket. I think he shouldn't get close to it and in the white ball he should play as less 50 over cricket as possible. Make sure he is available for all the ICC tournaments, he will be a big asset for Sri Lanka. He has got pretty stronger and he will serve much longer for Sri Lanka cricket."
Best Catch of the match: Ravindra Jadeja.
Longest six of the match: Shivam Dube (92m).
Most Fours of the match: Nehal Wadhera (8fours).
Most Valuable Player of the Match: Nehal Wadhera.
Gamechanger of the Match: Matheesha Pathirana.
Striker of the Match: Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Time for the presentation ceremony.
Ruturaj Gaikwad (Chennai Super Kings): "Nothing just spending a lot of time with Devon Conway off the field as well. We are going along really well some 4-5 games to go. We'd like to continue the same. We try to keep the positive intent in the powerplay because the wicket was slightly on the slower side so wanted to maximize whatever we face in the powerplay.

Really important win even MI were on the same points. Good to have the 3 point cushion over the other teams which have 10 points on the table. We have 2 more games to go at home so starting the home run with a win was important. Good start from the bowling unit as well. Wicket wasn't slow initially in the first half but they started off really well and good allround work from the fielding team as well."
Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians Captain): "We didn't bat well enough to put enough runs on the board for the bowlers to come and defend. Games like this can happen. We've been batting really well. We had an off day as a batting unit. We didn't put enough runs on the board.

We lost Tilak Varma so we thought we need Indian batters to bat in the middle overs and tackle the spinners. Unfortunately that didn't happen for us. We lost 3 wickets in the powerplay which is quite tough to come back from that situation.

Piyush is bowling really well. The other bowlers need to rally around him and support him as well. That is what we expect. Its a team game. We want everyone to come to the party. We can take a lot of learnings from this game and move forward.

If you look at many a teams, there's no such thing as home advantage. Many teams have lost home games as well. At the end of the day you need to play good cricket wherever you go. You have to put your best foot forward, get the right players in to play and do well in all 3 departments. That's how we will win games. Next 2 games are quite important for us. We'll try and work our way through those 2 games and see what we can do in those 2 games."
7:02 PM IST: So, MS Dhoni finishes things off with a single as Chennai Super Kings win this game by 6 wickets with 14 balls to spare. They have dominated Mumbai Indians from the start and complete the double over their arch rivals for the first time since 2014. This is CSK's first win in Chennai over Mumbai Indians since 2010.

Chasing 140 for the win, Chennai got off to a cracking start as they dominated the powerplay. Gaikwad was the aggressor as he scored 30 off 16 balls. Devon Conway held the innings together with a score of 44 off 42 balls. Ajinkya Rahane chipped in with 21 off 17 balls. Ambati Rayudu scored 12 while Shivam Dube scored an unbeaten 26* off 18 balls to guide CSK home over the line. They got there in 17.4 overs.

Piyush Chawla was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/25 in 4 overs. A wicket at the latter stage of the game for Tristan Stubbs and Akash Madhwal. It was an underpar score to defend and the start from CSK killed the game.

Earlier in the game, Mumbai Indians lost their way inside the powerplay as Ishan Kishan, Cameron Green and Rohit Sharma fell cheaply. Suryakumar Yadav scored 26 off 21 balls. Nehal Wadhera was the star with a score of 64 off 51 balls. Tristan Stubbs got 20 off 21 balls but it was too slow for the innings as MI ended with 139/8 in 20 overs.

Matheesha Pathirana was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/15 in 4 overs. A couple of wickets apiece for Tushar Deshpande and Deepak Chahar. Ravindra Jadeja got the other wicket to fall. The seamers of CSK took most of the wickets as only Jadeja out of the spinner got the wicket.

So, a win by 6 wickets for CSK as they climb to second in the points table. Stick around for the presentation ceremony.
