That's it from this game between LSG and CSK. Switch tabs to catch the next game between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians from Mohali. Mumbai have won the toss and opted to chase there. Stick around to all the other cricketing actions across the globe in our network.

For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentators AkshayaKrishna Polya, and Ninaad Dixit alongside scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS from here.
7:00 PM IST: So, rain has had the final say in Lucknow as the match has been abandoned due to rain. Both teams share one point each. Lucknow climbs upto 2nd in the points table while CSK climbs upto 3rd in the points table.

Lucknow got to 125/7 in 19.2 overs when rain intervened. Ayush Badoni was the star with the bat with his unbeaten 59* off 33 balls. For CSK, Moeen Ali was the pick of the bowlers with 2/13 in 4 overs. Maheesh Theekshana got 2 wickets for 37 runs in 4 overs. Pathirana got a couple of wickets for 22 and was in his 4th over. Ravindra Jadeja was economical in his 3 overs and picked up a wicket for 11 runs. This match could have gone either way but the rain spoiled out all the plans as both teams share the spoils.

So, match has been abandoned due to rain.
6:57 PM IST: Handshakes all around. The match has been abandoned. Both teams get 1 point each.
6:53 PM IST: Not too promising signs from Lucknow as the rain continues to pelt down. The match will be abandoned if the umpires deem that it can't restart by the cut off time of 7:28 PM IST. The umpires are walking out with their umbrellas.
6:33 PM IST | The cut-off time is 7:28 PM IST for a five-over game.
6:23 PM IST: The rain has gotten heavier than just a drizzle and the groundsmen have disappeared from the ground. We might be in for a longer delay.
Targets for CSK if the overs are reduced to:

19 overs- 127
15 overs- 106
10 overs- 76
5 overs- 42
6:02 PM IST: The Lucknow Super Giants innings has got over and they won't come out to bat again. The rain had stopped but has returned again. So, the covers are back on the field.
5:57 PM IST | The umpires are walking onto the field for an inspection. The covers are being removed slowly. The rain has eased out. The umpires and the match referee are having a chat with the head groundsman.
The Chennai Super Kings bowlers have done a tremendous job to contain the hosts Lucknow Super Giants to a below par total of 125/7 in the rain hit 45th match of the Indian Premier League. Quick recap to the innings as MS Dhoni called it right at the toss and decided to bowl first. Stand-in LSG skipper Krunal Pandya would have decided to bat had he won the toss.

Manan Vohra replaced Rahul at the top but both the openers were sent back in the hut within the powerplay as spinners Moeen Ali (2/13) and Maheesh Theekshana (2/37) wreaked havoc ealy on with the latter being on a hattrick in the 6th over getting rid of Pandya for a golden duck.

Marcus Stoinis was sent back packing by a stunning delivery from Ravindra Jadeja turning square and rattling the stumps. Debutant Karan Sharma also didn't last long and was dismissed by Moeen Ali who grabbed a stunning return catch.

Nicholas Pooran (20 off 31) and Ayush Badoni (59* off 33) added 59 runs for the sixth wicket with Matheesha Pathirana breaking the stand in the 18th over. It was Badoni's counterattacking assault that set the tone of LSG crossing the three figure mark on the same ground which saw RCB defending a similar score a couple of days back.

We continue waiting for updates as the rain has halted play with 4 balls remaining in the 1st innings.
5:48 PM IST | It continues to rain at Lucknow and we aren't starting anytime soon.
5:19 PM IST: With that wicket, the rain has gotten heavier and the covers are brought into the ground. We will have a delay to the proceedings and let's hope this is just a passing shower. We have 40 minutes before we lose any overs.
19.2 M Pathirana to K Gowtham
W WICKETTTT!!!! In the air and Rahane takes a good catch. Slower ball on a back of length around the off-stump. It deceives Gowtham who clears his front leg and goes for the heave pretty early. Miscues it in the air and Rahane runs to his right to take a good high catch. He runs across from long-on and takes it safely.
This is an umpire's review for a fair catch. They will check the Ultra Edge first. The catch looks to be clean. No, the ball has missed the bat. So, Not Out will be the decision on the screen.
19.1 M Pathirana to K Gowtham
0 Over the wicket. Back of a length outside off. Gowtham misses the cut to the keeper. Huge appeal by CSK but not given out on the field. Dhoni has taken this ball low down. And the umpires are having a chat and now they send it upstairs to check the fairness of the catch. Fair delivery. Replays come in. Ultra-edge shows no bat involved! Not out.
Ayush Badoni is playing a blinder here. Is this the innings that makes the difference at the end of the game? He has reached 59* off 33 balls. A crucial last over coming up now.

6 SIXXX!!! This is an outstanding shot from Ayush Badoni! Fuller-length delivery outside the tramline. Badoni shuffles across and sits down on one knee as he lofts it over extra covers for a lovely six. Inside out on this slow wicket is a brilliant shot and the execution is excellent as well.
