UPDATE (16:43 IST, 12:13 Local Time): Well, with the rain showing no signs of slowing down here in Cardiff. The umpires have decided to call off this game. Welsh Fire Women and Manchester Originals Women both will share a point each from this contest. The men's game between the same two sides is to be played later in the day. Hopefully, by then the conditions will improve. For now, on behalf of Akshay Bhide, and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer, this is Navjeevan Rajput signing off.
UPDATE (16:30 IST, 12:00 Local Time): The umpires were supposed to carry out an inspection right now. However, the rain is still around, and the covers are pretty much firmly in place. There is absolutely no movement on the ground as we continue to wait.
UPDATE (16:00 IST, 11:30 Local Time): We were scheduled to get underway now. However, rain is showing no respite. We are in for a longer delay here. There will be a pitch inspection at 12:00 Local Time if the rain stops by then.
Navjeevan: That's nice, Sophie Ecclestone does seem to be doing well with the ball and taking apart the opposition batters. Hopefully, Mahika Gaur does get to play as the overcast conditions in the UK in particular would certainly assist her a lot. Let's hope the weather clears soon.
Akshay: I'm backing the Manchester Originals. Led by experienced Sophie Ecclestone, they have enough firepower in their batting lineup, with Deandra Dottin, Laura Wolvardt, and Emma Lamb on their side. Also, I'm eager to watch Mahika Gaur in action for the Originals today. The tall left-arm pacer from UAE has the ability to swing the new ball and can extract some extra bounce due to her height. She is certainly a player to look forward to in the competition.
Navjeevan: Hello Akshay, and hello, everyone. UK and the rains have an eternal bond to play spoilsport over Cricket, don't they? Well, it's just the first game of the day from Cardiff. We could be in for a treat throughout the day but with rain forecasted for all around the UK, it doesn't seem too bright now. If we do get underway, it would be great to see the likes of Laura Wolvaardt and Tammy Beaumont fire away here. How about you? Who would you be backing in this contest if it gets underway?
Akshay: As we wait for the rain to stop, let's welcome Navjeevan and know his thoughts about this fixture. Good afternoon mate. Rain continues to play spoilsport in the UK. We saw it in the Ashes and now today. What do you make of today's fixture and who are the players you are looking forward to watching?
UPDATE (15:32 IST, 11:02 Local Time): Not so great news everyone, it's raining here in Cardiff. The covers are on, and the toss has been delayed. Hopefully it clears soon, stay tuned.

Pitch Report: The surface at the Sophia Gardens has always been a tricky one for the batters. The batters often find it difficult to hit through the line as the bowlers get plenty of assistance from the surface. Anything above 140 will be a good total to defend here.
3 PM IST, 10:30 AM Local Time: A warm welcome to the coverage of the second match of the Women’s Hundred 2023 between the Welsh Fire Women and the Manchester Originals Women from the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. I’m Akshay Bhide and will soon be joined by Navjeevan Rajput and scorer Zeeshan Naiyer as we will take you through the ball-by-ball updates of this clash.
The ultimate season of Hundred kickstarts on August 1 and match 2 of the Women's competition will see Welsh Fire Women collide with Manchester Original Women at the Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

The Fire's finished last during the group stages in the previous edition of the unique tournament, earning just a single win against the Northern Superchargers Women. They would like to come over the horrendous phase and start afresh.

The Welsh-based franchise will be captained by the in-form Tammy Beaumont. She was in tremendous form during the multi-format Ashes, notching a double ton in the only Test. Sophia Dunkley, Freya Davies, and Alex Hartley are a few of the prominent capped players in the franchise.

Talk about the overseas signings, West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews, South African pacer (recently retired), Shabnim Ismail, and Australian batter, Laura Harris are some of the renowned names. Welsh suffered a blow after off-break bowler, Georgia Davis was replaced with Gloucestershire off-spinner, Chloe Skelton.

On the flip side, Manchester Originals are led by English bowling all-rounder, Sophie Ecclestone. The side failed to make it to the knockout stages in the previous season, ending at the sixth number, after already finishing fifth in the inaugural edition.

Among the national recruits, Emma Lamb is one of the names to be highlighted. Speak about the overseas signings, Laura Wolvaardt, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Kathryn Bryce, and Deandra Dottin are the established names featuring for this side. Manchester is also going to have the services of some youngsters in the form of 17-year-old Mahika Gaur (Thunders) and 24-year-old Katie Louise George (Central Sparks) who have gained the limelight in the Women's domestic circuit.

A scintillating encounter awaits us in this double-header Hundred-mania. Stay tuned as the live coverage begins at 3:00 PM IST, 10:30 AM Local Time.
