Mohammad Nawaz:- "I think when a player plays a match winnings of this sort, remains a life long memory. We tried to show intent and it was totally outclass by them. It was not tough call to sent Hafeez because Umar and Iftikhar can hit anywhere they bat. We needed someone to play cricketing shots to achieve the target. We would try to carry the momentum to the last match of the league too."
Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi Captain): "Jason Roy played in an amazing style. I believe our bowling fell short of expectations and failed to carry out our strategies. Nothing, in my opinion, was very successful. We believed the wicket would perform better the second time. We played the team we felt will produce results. It's a unique sensation. That was great how Ayub structured the innings from the beginning. He is still a young man and is getting better every day, which is fantastic for Pakistan, but Jason Roy really smashed it today. Before the upcoming game, we must sit and chat. We must concentrate on the upcoming back-to-back games."
Jason Roy(Player of the match):- "I just had some fun. I was going hard chasing 240 and had a lot of fun. Went after every delivery from the start and I am very very happy with the way I played. It was very tough for the bowlers if you consider the pitch. We are out of the tournament unfortunately but today has something to smile about definitely"
11:04 PM IST | Deepak: Jason Roy finishes off in style. Oh dear, would you believe it, 240 runs have been chased down in 18.2 overs. Yes, you heard it right, Quetta Gladiators have chased down 240 runs with 10 balls to spare. Take a bow to Mr. Roy, 145 runs off just 63 balls. A great game for cricket enthusiasts, 483 runs were scored in 38.2 overs tonight. This game will surely be remembered for a long time as one of the most thrilling matches of all time. ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰

Earlier, after opting to bat first, Peshawar Zalmi posted a mammoth 240 runs in 20 overs. The first innings saw a scintillating inning from skipper Babar Azam, who amassed his century, and the young bloke Saim Ayub, who slammed a rapid 74 runs off just 34 balls and set the platform for the mammoth total, and the rest of the work was done by Rovman Powell in the end, who hammered 35 runs off just 18 balls and helped his side post 240 runs on the board.

In pursuit of Peshawar Zalmiโ€™s mammoth 240 runs, Quetta Gladiators got off to an electrifying start as both their openers, Jason Roy and Martin Guptill, didn't waste any time in unleashing their fury on the bowlers and started hammering them from the very first over. Although Guptill's explosive cameo of 21 runs off 8 balls ended in the third over, the duo still managed to put together a solid 41-run partnership for the first wicket.

Will Smeed joined Roy in the middle, and the pair continued a similar approach to batting, especially Jason Roy, who was in scintillating form and completed his half-century in just 22 balls. Will Smeed failed to carry the momentum and departed after scoring 26 runs off 22 balls. However, Jason Roy was unstoppable today as he amassed his century on the occasion and reduced the equation to 40 runs off the last 4 overs. Mohammad Hafeez, who was promoted up in the order, didnโ€™t waste any time and started taking on the bowlers from the very first ball and turning the tide of the game.

The pair didnโ€™t stop and sealed the game with 10 balls to spare. Jason Roy remained unbeaten on a scintillating 145 runs, while Mohammad Hafeez remained unbeaten on 41 runs and helped their side chase down a mammoth total with ease.

From the bowling front, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Wahab Riaz were the only bowlers to extract a wicket for Peshawar Zalmi.

Overall, it was a fantastic game of cricket, with both teams displaying their skills and talents to the fullest. Quetta Gladiators emerged as the deserving winners, thanks to Jason Roy's scintillating century and Mohammad Hafeez's aggressive batting in the end.

Stay tuned for the presentation...
