So it was the Sikandar Raza show and this year is just turning out to be magical for the Zimbabwe international. It was sheer entertainment and the Qalandars showed their class with the ball in the second innings to cruise their way to another win as they sit comfortably at the top.

All in all it was a great game filled with drama and we'll be eager to witness more such action heading forward. Until then, we ask you to take very good care of yourselves as we'll be back with more live coverage.

This is Wali, Megh and Manish signing off!
Shaheen Afridi (Captain of Lahore Qalandars): " Want to congratulate the team and the crowd for their support. The wickets fell quickly so I made the decision of going up the order for a left-right combination. Sometimes five-six wickets can be lost quickly and all one has to do then is to support one another and that's what Rashid and Sikandar did with their partnership. Told everyone to stick with their line and length and to bowl to their strengths in their second innings and I'm glad it worked".
Sikandar Raza (Player of the Match): "My plan was pretty clear. I wanted to go harder. I didn't batting full overs would get us the game. I wasn't just gonna bat the overs. I just needed somebody to bat with and Rashid did well from the other end. Me and Rashid decided to go for a boundary each over. Rashid and I had good partnerships. We run well and we understand each other really well. I thought the wicket was slightly variable in the bounce. There wasn't any turn and just the bounce really made it hard. Credit to the bowlers. It was an incredible effort from them."
Sarfaraz Ahmed (Quetta Gladiators Captain): "We committed a lot of mistakes. We bowled really well in the first innings but could not execute our plans in our second innings. Credit goes to Lahore but we played a lot of dot balls in the middle. The wickets kept falling from one end and the batters couldn't come back into this game. Of course, we cannot commit a mistake from here. We have to play good cricket now."
Aaqib Javed (Head coach of Lahore Qalandars): "This is one of the best wins and I think that is best for cricket. Bowling always wins you the tournament. Even International teams don't have a bowling attack like us. With Sikandar Raza, we are always confident. He brought us back out of nowhere."

So that’s that and it’s the Lahore Qalandars that have secured a win by 17 runs after restricting the Quetta Gladiators for 131/7 from 20 overs of play.

Bowling first, the Gladiators got off to a dream start as they scalped four quick wickets for just 28 runs. The momentum remained largely in favour of Quetta for the first 10 overs as they bagged seven wickets for a meager 50.

At one stage it seemed like the Quetta Gladiators will have an easy target to chase but that’s when things took a major shift as Sikandar Raza and Rashid Khan got into the attack. The dynamic duo contributed to a significant 69 run stand from the next six overs.

Rashid Khan accumulated 21 (20), whereas, Sikandar Raza played one of the knocks of the season courtesy his unbeaten 71 (34)*. Raza’s innings consisted of eight fours and three sixes while batting at a strike rate of 208.82.

The Zimbabwe international single handedly dragged the Qalandars to a fighting total of 148. For Quetta, it was Mohammad Nawaz who stood out with the ball as he bowled a spell of 2/19 from three overs. Naveen ul Haq also chipped in with two wickets, whereas, Naseem Shah, Odean Smith and Umaid Asif picked up a wicket each.

Talking about the second innings, the run chase kicked-off in a fairly positive manner as the opening duo of Yasir Khan 14 (15) and Will Smeed 32 (25) contributed to a 53-run partnership from the first six. Both sets of batters then had to walk back to the dugout as Haris Rauf and Rashid Khan picked up the wickets in quick succession. Martin Guptill 15 (23) got caught in Wiese’s spell, while Mohammad Hafeez 2 (7) was run out by Fakhar Zaman.

The skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed 27 (28)* did try to put up a fight but he was unable to shift gears which eventually led to the Lahore Qalandars earning their fourth win on the bounce.

Shaheen Afridi didn't have his best days with the ball but his bowlers did take the onus of suffocating the Quetta batters for runs. Haris Rauf was the wrecker in chief as he bowled a spell of 3/22 from the four overs. Rashid Khan being his usual self didn’t make life easy for the batsmen either courtesy his spell of 2/14 from four overs.

Considering the emphatic start Sarfaraz’s men had with the ball, this defeat will certainly hurt the Gladiators as they remain right at the bottom of the points table, whereas, the Qalandars certainly displayed as to why they're the favourites to lift the title!

19.6 Z Khan to U Asif
0 And that will do it for the Qalandars! The reigning champions continue their winning streak at their home venue and they have defeated Quetta by 17 runs. Another short of a length delivery from Khan on the top of the middle and off, Asif again goes for a pull across the line but gets the toe end of his bat that rolls back to the bowler. Another dominating display from the men in green.
19.5 Z Khan to U Asif
0 Bangs it short and angles it away from off, Asif goes for a hoick across the line but misses it to the keeper, no run.
19.4 Z Khan to U Asif
6 SIXX! A little too late perhaps for Quetta. Fuller and in the slot, Asif clears his front leg and swats that through the line of the ball and clears the long-on fence with ease.
19.3 Z Khan to U Asif
0 Good length delivery on the top of middle and off with the pace being taken off, Asif clears his front leg and goes for a heave but the ball sneaks to the keeper, no run.
19.2 Z Khan to S Ahmed
1 Short of a length delivery and outside off, Ahmed goes for a hook but finds no connection as the ball rolls to long-on for a single. There is a runout check at the bowler's end but Sarfaraz was well inside the crease.
19.1 Z Khan to S Ahmed
0 A well-executed yorker on the off-pole, Ahmed looks to dig it out but wears that on the boot as the ball passes to the keeper, no run.

4 FOUR! A much-needed boundary for Quetta and Asif ends the over on a high. Good length delivery and angling into the middle and leg, Asif clears his front leg and whips that towards vacant deep backward square leg for a boundary. 25 required now from the final over now.
18.5 H Rauf to S Ahmed
1 Bangs it short and outside off, Ahmed hangs back and slaps that down to long-on for a single.
18.4 H Rauf to U Asif
1 A low-full toss delivery on the pads, Asif nudges that down to long-on for a single to get off the mark.
