So, that's it from this game. Join us tomorrow for more PSL action and for all other fixtures across the globe in our network. For now, this is Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Tugral Azmi alongside scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and Cheers!
Babar Azam (Peshawar Zalmi Captain): "I am really happy with the result of the game. Yes, in the last couple of overs, we bowled a bit too badly and dropped too many catches, because of which at one point in time we felt that this game might slip out of our hands. But Khurram bowled very accurately in the final over and got the team across the victory line."
Imad Wasim (Karachi Kings Captain): "I think we bowled well. TKC and Babar batted well. But we lost too many wickets at the top. The wicket is good. Credit to groundstaff. We played cricketing shots and lost wickets at important times. It's just the first game of the season. I am happy with the bowling. You can go out of the ground here. The batters need to pull up their socks in my view."
Tom Kohler-Cadmore (Player of the Match): "Of course, it was a very good surface to bat on. Batters have scored 400 runs, so you can guess how much the pitch was supporting the batter. When I came to play, the team needed a good partnership, which I did with Babar and helped the team post a good total. I will try to keep this momentum continues in the upcoming games."
Time for the presentations.
12:30 AM IST: What a terrific game we have had here in Karachi where Peshawar Zalmi have held their nerves to win the game by 2 runs. Karachi came so close to winning the game as Zalmi slipped up quite a few times in the field and the bowlers bowled no balls. But they did well to win the game by 2 runs.

Chasing 200 for the win, Karachi Kings lost Sharjeel early. Matthew Wade scored 23. Haider Ali scored 12. Shoaib Malik was brilliant with his 52 off 34 balls. Skipper Imad Wasim was unbeaten on 80* off 47 balls while Ben Cutting was unbeaten on 9* off 8 balls. 14 extras were given by the fielding side as they ended with 197/5 in 20 overs.

James Neesham was the pick of the bowlers for Peshawar Zalmi with figures of 2/26 in 4 overs. Wahab Riaz was good with his 2/34 in 4 overs. Salman Irshad picked up the other wicket. It was tough conditions to bowl at and they just about enough to hold off the Kings.

Put into bat first, Peshawar Zalmi had captain Babar Azam leading from the front with his 68 off 46 balls. But it was Tom Kohler-Cadmore's 92 off 50 balls that powered his side to 199/5. James Neesham was unbeaten on 16* off 11 balls. Mohammad Haris at the top got to double figures. 5 extras were given by the fielding side as they ended with 199/5 in 20 overs.

A wicket apiece for Mir Hamza, Andrew Tye, Imran Tahir, and Ben Cutting. It was a great pitch to bat on and the bowlers found it extremely hard to bowl. Dew came in and made things even more complicated.

So, a win for Peshawar Zalmi over Karachi Kings by 2 runs in what was another thriller in PSL Season 8. Stick around for the presentations.

1 Nail the perfect yorker around the off. Ben Cutting digs it out back to the bowler who fumbles to collect it as the ball rolls it to the cover.
19.4 K Shahzad to I Wasim
1 Full toss delivery, on the stumps. Wasim looks for an expansive slog but mistimes towards the mid-off region for a run. TV umpire again checks the front foot of the bowler after that he checks the height of the delivery.

NB In the air and taken. Fuller delivery on the leg stump line. Cutting slams that down the ground, high in the air to the long-on region. The fielder in the deep runs forward and pouches it safely. The umpire is just checking a front foot. Relays confirm that the Wahab has overstepped the line. The on-field umpire has to change his decision. Free will come up next..!!
