That's it from our coverage of the second ODI between Bangladesh and India from Mirpur. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentators AkshayaKrishna Polya and Arijit Kundu and also our scorer Raju Khariya. Thank you for tuning in, and stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the globe.
Rahul Dravid confirms that Rohit Sharma will miss the final ODI.
Litton Das (Bangladesh Captain): "I don't know what did he say (about Mehidy Hasan Miraz speaking in Bangla). Yeah, really feeling happy. First series win as a captain. Dreams come true. The boys played really well. When you win the toss and bat first, I said that 240 is enough in Mirpur. Excellent innings from Mehidy Hasan Miraz. I am not sure what they (Mahmudullah Riyad and Mehidy Hasan Miraz) discussed in between the innings, they played really well. I have tried many bowlers in the powerplay, and they did well. If I continue with my main bowlers consistently, they will put the opposition under pressure. On one side, it was a pacer, on the other side, it was a spinner. This is the way I rotated the bowlers. We have come with the intent of winning the series, and we have done it."
Mehidy Hasan Miraz: "I don't have any words. I am really happy. Last few years, I've worked hard. I needed to focus on particular areas. I did well on my batting. The coaches helped me with how to go ahead in international cricket. The partnership with Riyad bhai was very special. He pushed me to keep going. We wanted to add 20-30 runs and were not thinking big. It was a great moment for me. I was trying to bowl in the good areas. I just kept going and hit the good areas. Obviously, we have won the series and we will do better in the next game as well. I would like to thank all the spectators who came here and supported us."
Mehidy Hasan Miraz is the player of the match.
Most Valuable Player of the Match Award goes to Mehidy Hasan Miraz
Tiger of the Match Award goes to Mahmudullah Riyad
Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "Honestly, it was not too great. Bit of dislocation in the finger and some stitches. Luckily, it was not a fracture, and that is why I could come and bat.

Honestly, when you lose a game, there are positives and negatives. From being 70-6 and allowing them to get 270 odds, wasn't a good thing for us. The innings at the backend is hurting us all. The time is not in your hands too much. You need to give them the specific roles. Not taking away anything from Mehidy Hasan and Mahmudullah, but we need to break partnerships.

I mean look, in ODI cricket it's all about the partnerships. And you need to make sure that it is a match-winning partnership. When you get the partnerships you need to convert the 70-odd runs stand to something like 110-120s. Keeping up with the run rate won't be easy as that is the nature of the pitch.

We need to be brave in the middle and try to take the odd chances. Guys will be backed if they are willing to do it for the team and giving their best and this is something that we will be looking to find and do quickly.

Yeah, there are definitely a few injury concerns. We need to get to the bottom of it. We need to look at it why the players are getting injured so much. Is it because they are playing too many matches? We need to sit in NCA and monitor their workload. We cannot afford the guys being half-fit and representing the country. We need to find the bottom cause of it and fix it."
8:05 PM IST | Time for the post-match presentations!
7:50PM IST: A thriller was on the cards for the Mirpur crowd today as the second ODI between Bangladesh and India went down the wire to the last ball with the hosts getting home by 5 runs getting an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series.

Bangladesh won the toss and surprisingly elected to bat first and the decision didn't prove to be a good one with the scoreboard once reading 69 for the loss of six wickets thanks to a good opening spell from Mohammed Siraj, Deepak Chahar and Umran Malik.

Washington Sundar also chipped in with wickets and was the pick of the Indian bowlers with 3/37 in his ten overs. But the star of the innings was Mehidy Hasan Miraz who added 148 runs with Mahmudullah for the seventh wicket, any team's highest score for the 7th wicket against India.

Mehidy batted till the end and brough up his maiden ODI century, 100 unbeaten runs off just 83 deliveries and decimated the Indian bowling attack to all parts of the stadium alongside Mahmudullah (77) and Nasum Ahmed who played an attacking knock in the fag end.

The Indian team had a couple of major issues in the first innings with the skipper Rohit Sharma going out of the ground with a thumb injury trying to catch one in the slips. Deepak Chahar had a hamstring niggle and didn't bowl more than 3 overs.

Virat Kohli and not KL Rahul opened the innings for India alongside Shikhar Dhawan but opening bowlers Ebadot Hossain and Mustafiur Rahman bowled well and got rid of both the batters respectively. Washington Sundar departed soon against the spin of Shakib Al Hasan.

Shreyas Iyer (82) and Axar Patel (56) added 107 runs for the fifth wicket after skipper KL Rahul departed cheaply batting low at number 5. The partnership absorbed the pressure for team India but both the batters departed in the space of five overs in the middle stages to build the pressure yet again.

Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar stayed at the crease for a while but the scoring rate was very low at this stage as they found it tough against the variations from the Bangladesh bowlers with the ball also staying quite low.

Skipper Rohit Sharma came in to bat at number 9 despite that injury after Shardul Thakur departed in the 46th over with another 59 runs to win off 29 deliveries. Rohit started cautiously and then began the onslaught as he hammered away 3 fours and 5 magnificent sixes to bring the scoring rate in check.

Deepak Chahar's departure and Mustafizur's brilliant bowling in the end keeping Mohammed Siraj on strike proved fatal for India as Rohit was away from the strike for quite a long time. Mahmudullah bowled at the death as Mehidy went out of the field nursing an injury. Rohit Sharma then hit 20 off the over to bring the required rate to 20 off the final over which went on to be 6 off the final ball. Good execution from Mustafizur under pressure made sure Bangladesh got home on the final ball of the match.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation!

0 So, Mustafizur Rahman keeps his calm and smears a yorker at the middle stick. Rohit manages to clear the front leg and drill it to long on. With that, the Bangladesh fans are jubilant and they have sealed the series๐ŸŽ‰. India might have lost the game but Rohit Sharma and his valiance have won Indian hearts!! A fitting win for Bangladesh and the experience of Mustafizur gets the last laugh.
Ajay: Rohit Sharma take a bow...What a hitting this from the Indian skipper...6 needed now from the last ball...Can he repeat the heroics from NZ 2020?
49.5 M Rahman to R Sharma
6 SIXXXXXXX!! Well, what is it happening!! The ball maroons over the fence this time and one more six is needed for India to close the game in their favour. Length delivery outside the off, Rohit waits for it and spanks at the face of the white cherry, and it propels over the fence. This is insane batting from Rohit.
49.4 M Rahman to R Sharma
0 Short of a fuller length, an offcutter, pit hed just outside the off and goes away. Rohit leans forward for the uppish sweep and gets beaten on the outside edge this time. 12 runs needed from 2 balls now!!
Arijit: This has been very intelligent batting from Rohit.
12 runs needed from 3 balls now!!
49.3 M Rahman to R Sharma
4 FOUR!!! Rohit Sharma is playing with the field now...Another off-cutter on a good length outside the off. Rohit waits and steers that one past the point fielder for a four...
