That's all from our side as well. The New Zealand tour of Pakistan has come to an end, with the BlackCaps finally managing to clinch a victory in the final match of the series. Despite the win, the visitors still ended up losing the series 4-1, with Pakistan emerging as the dominant team. The Men in Green had a chance to maintain their number-one position in the ODI rankings by winning the final match, but they were unable to do so. The series was a long and intense one, featuring a total of five T20I and ODI matches. Overall, it was an entertaining and closely fought contest between two skilled teams, with Pakistan emerging as the deserved winner.

Tom Latham (New Zealand Captain): "Yeah, we put up a great performance today. Will Young was fantastic at the top of the order and the score was just above par. I think for us to take wickets upfront was really important. It was a complete performance. Shipley was able to find the right lengths on this wicket and was consistent throughout his stint.
Yeah, if you look back from the start of the T20Is and then the ODIs, it was all about improvement for us. It was to expose guys to different roles which they haven't even been exposed to before at the International level. We have seen some great performances as well. Yeah, it wasn't an ideal result from a team point of view but we have improved from game to game."

Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): "Definitely, we didn't finish the way we thought. Our batting performance at the top was not up to the mark, and although Agha and Iftikhar put up a decent partnership, we ended up conceding too many runs to the opposition.
As a team, we should always be ready to deliver our best performance, regardless of the conditions. Our performance today could have been better, but overall, it was a good series for us. Our bowlers showed consistency and performed exceptionally well throughout the tour.

As a team, we were searching for a good lower-order batting order and we have completed our quest in this series. The way Salman and Iftikhar played was fantastic. I would work on my mistake and prepare for the World Cup. Good win overall."

They have thwarted Pakistan by 47 runs in the fifth and final game of the series to elude a whitewash. With this defeat, Pakistan has also failed to retain their number one spot in the ODI ranking, and the Babar Azam-led side has slipped to third place now. It was a comprehensive performance from the Kiwis in all departments to end the series on a positive note.
Chasing a stiff total of 300, Fakhar Zaman and Shan Masood started the Pakistan innings on a sedate note. Adam Milne and Matt Henry operated the new ball and both the right-armers bowled immaculate lines in the powerplay. The boundaries were hard to manufacture early on in the innings owing to some top-notch pace bowling. Pakistan only posted 29 off the first seven overs before Masood succumbed to building pressure and departed for a scratchy 7(20).
In the following over, Henry Shipley lured the Pakistan skipper into a trap and gave the visitors a whip hand in the contest. Babar was dismissed on 1(5) in his 100th ODI game. Gloveman Mohammad Rizwan got together with Fakhar and brought some respite with a sluggish 22-run partnership for the 3rd wicket but the Kiwi paces kept on hitting the right areas. Skipper Tom Latham was the next batter in and developed another partnership with Young to keep the Kiwis in the game. The right-hander Young stepped on the gas in the middle overs while Latham also brought out some sweeps and kept the scorecard ticking. The 74-run stand for the third wicket ceased when Young was outwitted by Shadab Khan on 87(91). Mark Chapman was quick to gather the momentum back for New Zealand. The southpaw went on an assault in the 34th over and hammered Salman Agha for 22 runs.

Following Chapman’s wicket, New Zealand drifted away from the right course and lost wickets in a cluster. Latham completed his 21st half-century in ODI cricket and Rachin Ravindra added a crucial 28(20) that almost cruised New Zealand to 300.
