That’s a wrap from our side as well. We appreciate your participation from all across the world. On behalf of my co-commentator Ayan Chatterjee and Scorer/Analyst Yogesh Kumar, I, Deepak Prakash, am signing off. Please join us for the other fixtures across the world. Until then, Ta-Ta, Bye-Bye.✌✌✌
Heather Knight (England Women Captain): "We frequently discuss the importance of adapting our thinking to the circumstances, and Nat and I's relationship was important in doing so. Amy was outstanding after Nat did a great job of keeping the innings steady. It demonstrates the depth of our batting because we can still score even after losing three wickets. Renuka Thakur was outstanding and was nipping the ball both ways, but keeping a positive mindset helps to manipulate the field."
Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain): "I think we started well and in the middle overs we bowled badly and gave away few runs and lost momentum. In batting it was a good start, but we lost our way and could not get over the line. Renuka was great and we want wickets from here. Glad that she is doing well for us. Definitely, we spoke about the rain. It's a factor and Richa and Smriti batted well out there. We need to work out on certain aspects going forward and one of them is definitely shot selection. Hope to rub this off and come back stronger in the next game."
Nat Sciver-Brunt (Player of the Match): "Yes, it was tough. They were getting to seam a lot. Renuka bowled well and we had to soak up the pressure and get a score. It depends on the situation. It took time to settle here and play big shots. We did not get off to a great start. We did well in the middle over and Amy with that cameo helped us. It was noisy and good. Great to play in front of these people. I love it."
9:40 PM IST | Deepak: Ah, a valiant effort from Richa Ghosh goes in vain. India Women failed to break their losing streak against England Women as England Women defeated the girls in blue 6 times in a row in World Cups and 9 consecutive times in this format of cricket.

What a thrilling encounter it was between England Women and India Women! The match had everything, from early setbacks to spectacular comebacks, some exceptional batting, and breathtaking bowling performances. It was a battle between two cricketing giants, and the fans were in for a treat.

England, after being put into bat first, were in all sorts of trouble as they lost three quick wickets. But then came the rescue act, as Nat Sciver Brunt and Heather Knight combined to steady the ship. They not only rescued their side but also built a platform for the upcoming batters, and Amy Jones grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Her electrifying knock of 40 runs off just 27 balls helped England Women cross the 150-run mark, which proved to be too much for India in the end. From the bowling front, Renuka Thakur Singh was exceptional, as she scalped five crucial wickets and gave away just 15 runs in her four overs.

In pursuit of England’s 151 runs, India got off to a flying start as Smriti Mandhana hammered Katherine Sciver Brunt four cracking boundaries in the third over and set the tone for the chase, but she didn’t get any assistance from her co-opener Shafali Verma, who failed to make an impact with the bat and departed for a meager 8 runs.

Jemimah Rodrigues came out to bat at number three and started rotating the strike sensibly, but her progress was cut short when Sarah Glenn trapped her at long-on. Rodrigues departed for 13 runs and left India in a spot of bother. She was soon followed by Harmanpreet Kaur, who failed to impress with her bat and departed after just four runs. However, Smriti Mandhana continued with a similar approach and completed her half-century but failed to convert it into a big inning and departed for 52 runs. Richa Ghosh tried to pull things in the favor of the girls in blue, but it was too late by then, and India were restricted to 140 runs, falling short by 11 runs. Richa Ghosh remained unbeaten on 47 runs.

From the bowling front, Sarah Glenn extracted a couple of wickets, while Lauren Bell and Sophie Ecclestone contributed one wicket.

In conclusion, it was a closely fought contest, and both teams played their hearts out. However, in the end, it was England Women who emerged victorious in the end.

Stay tuned for the presentation...
