So a complete dominance from England floor down New Zealand at Old Trafford. We move onto Birmingham for the third T20I with the series on the line for the visitors.

For now, it is me AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash, who, alongside our scorer/analyst Chadan Kr Singh brought you all the live-action of this contest. We will meet again. Until then, it's cheers
Jos Buttler (England Captain): "Yeah, absolutely a brilliant performance. I thought we were excellent at Durham and to come here and play as we as we did, it was a brilliant performance.

Yes, it is absolutely a special moment to see the guys make debuts and start another journey in international cricket. Sam Curran gave Gus Atkinson his maiden cap and they have a long history together at Surrey. It was a very nice moment. It was simply brilliant by Atkinson to come and bowl the way he did and bowl in that passion was simply sensational.

Yeah,
absolutely, it is very crucial. Ahhh.. He (Atkinson) is in an upper curve. To get him around as quickly as possible in international cricket and in the dressing room, making friendships and getting use to the guys, the coaching staff, these little things take time. Hopefully, he gets settled quickly and continues to perform.

Yes, absolutely, we have got options in the spin bowling department with the likes of Moeen Ali, LiamLivingstone and Will Jacks. They also contribute with the bat and we have depth in our batting line-up.

Yeah, Brook played brilliantly today. With a lot of noise, the way he played was brilliant. He was calm from the beginning. He is definitely an asset and he has played brilliantly today."
Tim Southee (New Zealand Captain): "Yeah, not ideal, but those margins can be highlighted in this format as well. So, yeah, I think we're probably, obviously a bit off of the ball and that makes it hard for the batter to come out on a wicket like that and chase that.

Yeah, I think the way that obviously I think we've started pretty well with the ball, but the way Harry Brook came out and obviously with Jonny, they really sort of, I guess, grabbed the momentum and ran with it and put us on the back foot and we weren't able to, I guess, come back from it again. I think in this format the margin can be highlighted, but we know we have to be better in all three areas.

Yeah, a number of the guys are still reasonably young. Like I said tonight, it's tough when you're asked to go out and chase a score like that, you need a couple of guys to come off and do something special. So, yeah, I think we'll dust ourselves off and come back in a couple of days' time in Birmingham."

Jonny Bairstow (Player of the Match): "Yeah, it was a great team performance tonight. Obviously, to post, I think it was 197, and then to get the job done and the boys take ten wickets is some achievement in a T-20.

We know that Old Trafford can be a fantastic place to bat and score runs and look, the partnership between Harry and I ended up being a bit of a match-winner in the end. Yeah, to be honest with you, we haven't actually batted that much together. We were having a bit of a chuckle saying we due a bit of a partnership together and it was great to spend that time out in the middle.
So lucky. It's hopefully the first big one of a few big ones to come. And yeah, he's [Brook] playing very well at the moment.

Yeah, 100%. We've seen the qualities that Gus has when he's played for Surrey and the Oval Invincibles. We know the raw pace that he's got, which is scary for any opposition.  I'm sure it'll be a huge confidence booster for him. And look, whenever you come in, there's a bit of pressure on your debut and I think that you could see on his face how well he handled that and how he took everything in his stride."

Player of the match: Jonny Bairstow
1:21 AM IST and 9:51 PM Local Time: Unbelievable debut from the impressive Gus Atkinson has shattered New Zealand after a big partnership between Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook set-up the match for England.

Jos Buttler had no hesitation to bat first after winning the toss. Will Jacks and Bairstow provided a decent start but New Zealand bowlers made their way back in the game getting a couple of quick wickets just around 6th over. Following which a massive 131-run third wicket partnership between the two Yorkshiremen put the visitors on the sword. While Bairstow took his time to unleash the beast mode, Brook wasted no time in getting into his grooves. Both completed their respective fifties and punished the Kiwi bowlers left, right and centre. Ish Sodhi did get a couple of wickets in an over right at the end before Buttler and Bairstow got England closer to the 200-run mark.

Chasing a massive total, New Zealand were never in the game and were troubled by all English bowlers came in the attack except for Moeen Ali. Only Tim Seifert and Glenn Phillips were able to hold onto the crease for a while but they too couldn't get New Zealand anywhere closer to the England's total.

Gus Atkinson was the successful bowler on his debut and finished with figures of 2.5-0-20-4 with him getting three wickets in the 14th over of the innings closed the Kiwi chapter for just 103 runs. Adil Rashid picked a couple of wickets, while Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, Brydon Carse and Will Jacks contributed with a wicket each.

England enjoyed a perfect game and dominated with a 95-run win, a big one to get a 2-0 lead in the four-match series.

Stay tuned for the presentations!
13.5 G Atkinson to L Ferguson
W WICKET! BOWLED'EM! That's it, New Zealand are bundled out for just 103 runs. A humiliating defeat for the Black Caps to go 0-2 down in the 4-match series. Third wicket in the over for the debutant Atkinson and 4 wickets overall for just 20 runs in 2.5 overs.

Coming to the dismissal now, it was a low full toss pace on delivery straight on the middle stump line. Ferguson made room to drill it in the off-side but failed to get anything on it and the ball rattled the timbers. England win by a massive 95 runs to go 2-0 up in the series.

13.4 G Atkinson to T Southee
W A loud appeal and the finger is raised. Six and out. Atkinson has the last laugh over Southee. Back of a length delivery angling into the stumps. Southee shuffles across and looks to heave it in the leg side but fails to get any part of the willow on it, getting a thud on the front pad. Southee sends it upstairs but only to burn a review as the ultra edge suggests a flat line and the ball tracking suggests three reds. England are just one wicket away from the victory.
How about that for a shot from Tim Southee? Brings the team 100.
13.3 G Atkinson to T Southee
6 SIX! Good length delivery angling into the stumps. Southee clears his front leg and hammers the pull over the deep midwicket for a biggie.
13.2 G Atkinson to T Southee
2 Touch full-length on the stumps. Southee lofts it to wide of long on for a couple of runs.
