That concludes the presentation and that's it from our coverage of the 3rd fixture of the Women's Asia Cup 2022 between Pakistan Women and Malaysia Women hosted by the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. Megh Mandaliya here, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Shashank Surly and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Tune in for the 4th fixture between Sri Lanka Women and UAE Women, which will begin shortly. See you there!
Tuba Hassan (Player of the Match): "The wicket was helping me a lot and skipper trusted me to do well too. The conditions helped all our bowlers and we are without some of our best bowlers, but still gave a good performance."
Bismah Maroof (Pakistan Women’s Captain): “Yes, I think it was good to win to start. But, we can be more clinical with our bowling but this is just the start. We will try and rectify our mistakes. It was our first match and we tried different combinations and our openers did really well."
Winifred Duraisingam (Malaysia Skipper): "A great learning experience this by playing against a big team. We know where we are lacking and will get back strongly tomorrow, we have a young bunch here and all are very energetic and give tremendous support in the field."
10:45 AM IST | That concludes the 3rd fixture of the Women’s Asia Cup between Pakistan Women and Malaysia Women from the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. This has been a comprehensive performance from the experienced Pakistan team and they have thrashed Malaysia by 9 wickets.

In what was anticipated as an easy chase, Pakistan batters did not disappoint.
The openers Muneeba Ali and Sidra Ameen gave an electrifying start to Pakistan as they managed to stitch 45 in the powerplay. The 45-run opening partnership was broken by Mahirah Izzati Ismail, who dismissed Ameen 31 (23) right at the stroke of the powerplay. But, the target was too easy for Pakistan, and Muneeba 21 (23) finished proceedings for Pakistan.

Earlier in the day, after winning the toss and electing to field first, Pakistan restricted Malaysia for 57/9. The powerplay was spearheaded by Diana Baig and Sadia Iqbal as they only allowed Malaysia to score 16 runs in the first six overs by losing 2 wickets. The Malaysian team constantly kept losing wickets and crumbled like a house of cards.

On a surface that was beneficial for spinsters, Pakistan spinsters claimed 8 out of 9 wickets and troubled the Malaysian batters. They acted in accordance with the wicket and kept slower in the air while bowling in the right areas.
Omaima Sohail was the pick of the bowlers and attained 3 scalps by giving away just 19 runs.

Similarly, Tuba Hassan also projected immaculate lines and kept it tight for the batters to strike. She finished her stint on 2/13. The Malaysian team only orchestrated 3 boundaries in their innings and failed to accelerate the innings. The unhurried innings of Elsa Hunter 29 (51) gave bowlers something to uphold.

Ultimately, Pakistan Women toppled Malaysia Women by 9 wickets and start their campaign on a winning note. Stick around for the post-match presentation!
