Milestone
That's it from this game with the Capitals winning this by 7 wickets and qualifying for the playoffs. Manipal Tigers are virtually out of the reckoning. Do join us tomorrow for another clash in the Legends League Cricket 2022 and stay tuned to our network for all other cricketing action across the globe. For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Tugral Azmi and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Until next time, goodnight and CHEERS from all of us.
Gautam Gambhir (India Capitals Captain): "Yeah thank you, I would like to give credit first to our bowlers who bowled well and stopped them within 180. Rajat Bhatia also pulled out an important breakthrough in the 19th over, which we were looking for. After that the batters played a wonderful game after I got out early, the way Solomon, Hamilton, and Taylor ran the innings was incredible and in the end, the work that was left was completed by our middle order hitter Ashley Nurse."
Harbhajan Singh (Manipal Tigers Captain): "Yes, there is scope but for that, we have to play better cricket. Plus, we have to win the toss. It becomes difficult to defend on this dew and the big hitters they have is amazing. I think we were 15-20 short on that surface. I tried to hit and so did Corey Anderon, but we couldn't. They played brilliant cricket and deserved the win. I think 180 was needed here and they bowled well to keep us down. I think I will look at the batting more than the bowling."
The gamechanger of the match goes to Mohammad Kaif.
Hamilton Masakadza (Legends of the Match): "Yeah I think I got a good start today. I just came and played my natural game like I always play. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to play against both the legends spinners (Harbhajan Singh and Muttiah Muralitharan)."
Time for post-match presentation
Ashley Nurse finishes things off in style as the India Capitals win this game by 7 wickets with 16 balls to spare to maintain their top position at the points table. Manipal Tigers, on the other hand, lose another as they remain at the bottom of the points table and cannot qualify for the playoffs. 161 was decent, but dew towards the end made it difficult for them.

Chasing 162 for the win, the Capitals got off to a steady start with skipper Gautam Gambhir starting positively with his 15 off 9 balls. Solomon Mire contributed with 28 off 19 balls. But it was Hamilton Masakadza who held the innings together with his unbeaten 68 off 39 balls. Ross Taylor chipped in with 29 off 27 balls in his first outing at Legends League Cricket 2022. Ashley Nurse finished things off in style with his unbeaten 21 off 11 balls as the Capitals were safe and home by 7 wickets with 16 balls left.

Christopher Mpofu, Dilhara Fernando, and Muttiah Muralitharan picked up a wicket apiece between them with Murali registering exceptional figures of 1-15 off 4 overs. The rest of the players including Harbhajan went the distance as they were taken to the cleaners.

Earlier in the game, Manipal Tigers after being put into bat first by Gautam Gambhir lost Tatenda Taibu early for 5 off 9 balls. Thereafter, it was the Jesse Ryder-Mohammad Kaif show. The duo put on 126 runs for the second wicket to power the score past 160. Jesse Ryder top-scored with 79 off 56 balls which included 5 fours and 5 sixes to his name. Mohammad Kaif was brilliant batting at 3 as he got another half-century. He scored 67 off 48 balls as five extras from the Capitals helped them to get to 161-5 in 20 overs.

The India Capitals bowlers pulled it back in the last 10 overs. Mitchell Johnson picked up a wicket with his 1-28 in 4 overs. A couple of wickets for Liam Plunkett, and Rajat Bhatia who got into the mix in the end. The Tigers should have got to 180+, but the Capitals bowlers did exceedingly well to keep it down to just 161.

So, a win by the India Capitals here by 7 wickets. Stick around for the post-match presentation ceremony that comes your way soon.

17.2 P Sahu to A Nurse
6 SIXX! ASHLEY NURSE FINISHES THE GAME IN HIS STYLE WITH THIS MAXIMUM! He picks the slower delivery on that occasion, gets down on his knee, and slams that away over the long-on fence for a biggie. Gets a good enough connection to deposit that well over the boundary ropes. Indian Capitals won the game by 7 wickets with 16 deliveries spare.
17.1 P Sahu to H Masakadza
1 Flights outside off, Masakadza steers it to the sweeper cover a run.
