So, that's it from the thriller in Dubai. Sri Lanka advances to the Super 4's while Bangladesh bows out. Just one more spot up for grabs and tomorrow we will find who will join them in the Super 4s. Join us for Pakistan vs Hong Kong in a Group A fixture to decide who goes through to the Super 4. Stay tuned for all other cricketing action across our network across the formats.

For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Akshay Bhide, alongside our scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodnight and CHEERS!
Kusal Mendis | Player of the Match: "I played my natural game. Took my time in the first two overs. I wanted to finish the game. The no balls helped me. They gave me two chances and it helped my team chase down the total. I’m practicing hard in Sri Lanka for the last six months. I’m everyday learning and I do everything I can to contribute to the team’s wins. A big thank you to the fans for your support."
Kusal Mendis is the player of the match for his fantastic knock of 60.
Dasun Shanaka | Sri Lanka Skipper: "Yes, in the middle period, I thought it was tough. But when I and Kusal were there, I knew it was achievable. Absolutely. The openers did the job to set up the base and we spoke about that and because of that, we chased this one down successfully. I thought of promoting myself, but it's about the team's point of view. I have to play the role of a finisher here and it's the team's interest that comes first to me. I felt Chamika's run-out was the game. But the way Asitha Fernando handled the nerves to win the game for us was fabulous to see. These youngsters are an amazing and talented bunch. Hope to do well in the next stage now."
Shakib Al Hasan | Bangladesh Skipper: "Death bowling is something we are trying to improve. In the last two overs when they were eight down, they required 16 or 17 runs but they chased it down with four balls to spare. That shows that we failed to execute our plans. But credit to the Lankan side for the way they played. Kusal played well and Dasun also batted nicely. The plan was to pick wickets. The fast bowlers picked up wickets and we decided to continue with them. But we have to execute the plans. If we look at our six months, we are not playing competitively but that has improved in the last two games. The World Cup in Australia will be a good challenge for us. We feel sorry for the crowd that supports us."
Time for the presentation.
Chris Silverwood | Sri Lanka Coach: "Mendis obviously batted very well and the batters did a fine job to stay in the chase and pull things back towards us. It’s a very good surface here and we knew that if we keep wickets in hand, we would chase this down. Just giving suggestions to the captain out on the field through the sign boards to improve his decisions while out on the field."

What a terrific game of cricket we have had here in Dubai. At the end of it all, it was Sri Lanka who held their nerves to win by 2 wickets with 4 balls to spare. Asitha Fernando does it with the ball under pressure. The Tigers have given away 8 wides and 4 no-balls and they bow out of the tournament. The Lankans are into the Super 4s.

Chasing a daunting target of 184 for the win, the Lankans rode on Kusal Mendis's 60 off 37 balls as he aced the chase despite getting three reprieves through the course of the innings. Pathum Nissanka contributed with 20 while the middle-order fell away a bit. The skipper Dasun Shanaka kept the Lankans in the chase with his 45 off 33 balls. Chamika Karunaratne contributed with 16 off 10 balls before being run out. But it was the debutant's Asitha Fernando 10 off 3 balls at the end that took the Lankans over the line in a thriller in Dubai.

Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers with his 2-24 alongside the two brilliant catches he took. Ebadot Hossain, on debut, picked up 3 wickets in his initial burst but was taken the distance in his last two overs as he went for 51 runs in 4 overs 22 and 17 came off his 3rd and 4th overs respectively. A wicket apiece for Mahedi Hasan, and Mustafizur Rahman. Too many extras given by Bangladesh today in the field. A total of 17 extras which included 8 wides and 4 no-balls. This really cost them big time.

Earlier in the game, Dasun Shanaka won the toss and opted to bowl first. Bangladesh had a new opening combination in play with Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Sabbir Rahman opening for them. Sabbir went early for 5. Mehidy made the powerplay count as he contributed with 38 off 26 balls. Skipper Shakib al Hasan contributed 24 before being bowled out by Maheesh Theekshana. Afif Hossain contributed with a valuable 39 off 22 balls. Mahmudullah chipped in with 27 off 22 balls. Crucial contributions from Mosaddek Hossain (24 off9), and Taskin Ahmed (11 off 6) along with 10 extras propelled Bangladesh to 183-7 in 20 overs.

The Lankan bowlers bowled well in patches. A couple of wicket apiece for Chamika Karunaratne (2-32 in 4), and Wanindu Hasaranga (2-42 in 4). Hasaranga went the distance today for a change. A wicket apiece for Dilshan Madhushanka, and Maheesh Theekshana as they kept things tight here. Asitha Fernando, the debutant got a wicket but went for 51 runs in his 4 overs.

So, Sri Lanka wins this game by 2 wickets in the final over as they make the Super 4s and they will be a relieved lot now. Stick around for the post-match presentation that comes your way soon.

Scores are level. and it's a no ball called from the umpire and Sri Lanka wins this with 4 balls to spare. It is way over the line and Bangladesh are knocked out of the tournament.
19.3 M Hasan to A Fernando
2nb Slower in the air this time from Hasan and Fernando smacks it straight past the non-striker. Mosaddek from long on fielder runs to his left, cuts it off and keeps it to two. Ohhh My Word!!!! The siren goes on and I guess Mahedi has overstepped. Yes, he has and No ball is signaled. What an end to this match. Shakib can only smile at this as Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by two wickets to qualify for Super Four.
19.2 M Hasan to A Fernando
4 FOURRR!!!!!! Asitha Fernando is the man for Sri Lanka. Hasan bowls it right in the slot on the stumps, Fernando gets down on one knee and slog sweeps it wide of long on for a boundary. Splits the gap between deep mid wicket and long on perfectly and they are just one hit away from the victory.
19.1 M Hasan to M Theekshana
1lb Mahedi Hasan to bowl the last. Starts with a quicker delivery on the pads, Theekshana steps out and swings at it but misses and wears it on the pads. The batters sneak a leg bye.
Ayan: Right, what a game we are having here. 8 needed off 6 balls with 2 wickets in hand. Dare I say, the two dreaded words Super Over. Guess what, Bangladesh are 2 overs behind and now they will have five fielders inside the circle.

18.6 E Hossain to A Fernando
4 FOUR!!! The extra delivery results in a boundary and its game on. Hossain bowls on a length outside off, Fernando stands still and lifts it over covers and collects a boundary. This is poor bowling from Ebadot and he finishes with figures of 3/51 in his four overs.
18.6 E Hossain to A Fernando
WD Hossain tries to stay away from Fernando's arc but bowls it way outside off and he has to reload that. Wide signaled by the umpire.
18.5 E Hossain to M Theekshana
W A direct hit and Karunaratne is run out here. A massive moment in the game. Hossain bowls a good short delivery on the stumps, Theekshana looks to work it into the leg side but ends up getting a leading edge in the off side. Karunaratne calls for a quick run but Shakib at covers gets to the ball quickly, stays cool and hits the bull's eye at the striker's end to dismiss Karunaratne. Karunaratne was not even in the frame and the Lankan fans are disappointed.
