Milestone
That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Do join us in an hour as we will be ready to cover the final league game of this competition between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and scorer Zeeshan Naiyer.
With this win, the Hurricanes stay alive in the competition. They will be backing the Stars in tonight's fixture against the Thunder. If Thunder lose it, the Hurricanes will qualify for the finals. Brisbane Heat have qualified for the finals but will not be able to host a home final. WOWW!!! This is getting interesting. Another exciting contest awaits us tonight at the MCG. See you there.
Nathan Ellis has been named the Player of the Match.
11:31 AM IST | Akshay: Thatโ€™s it. We have just witnessed a miracle here in Launceston. Who would have thought that the Hurricanes will come out on top? Only they believed and came out victorious. All smiles in the Hurricanes' camp and agony in the Heat's. Brisbane Heat will be very disappointed with their effort with the bat as they have let this game slip. They lose the game by two runs and lose an opportunity to host a home final.

The Heat got off to a shaky start to the chase. They lost Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne early in the innings as they were struggling at 24/2 at the end of the mandatory powerplay. Josh Brown and Matt Renshaw departed on successive deliveries in the sixth over as they found themselves in a spot of bother. Sam Hain along with Jimmy Peirson led the recovery work.

The Hurricanes bowled beautifully but the pair of Hain and Peirson were up to the task. They kept the scoreboard ticking and found odd boundaries. They kept the required run rate under control. Hain departed on 26 with 18 required to win and Peirson also fell on 39. The game went down to the wire and the Hurricanes kept picking wickets to stay in the game. There were plenty of ebbs and flows in the end and with 10 required from the last over, Tim David stepped up and defended it successfully to help his side win the game by two runs.

Earlier in the day, the Hurricanes were asked to bat first. They didnโ€™t have the best of starts with the bat as their batters failed to adapt to the conditions and struggled to get going. Macalister Wright held the innings from one end but lacked support from the other end as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Skipper Matthew Wade scored 12 but it was a short stay for him as the Heat bowlers bowled beautifully.

Wright brought up his fifty but fell soon while trying to up the ante. The lack of contributions from their batters resulted in them finishing their innings on 120/9. Each of the Heat bowlers picked up at least a wicket. Michael Neser finished with figures of 4/35 in his four overs. Spencer Johnson also chipped in with a couple of scalps as they completed a dominant performance with the ball.

1 Oh dear, would you believe it!! Hobart Hurricanes saved 12 runs in the last 2 overs, with just 2 fielders outside the circle!! Fuller ball outside the off and Bazley drags it to mid-wicket but will only get a single. Hobart Hurricanes won by 2 runs.
4 from 1 now.
19.5 T David to J Bazley
0 A wide yorker from David and Bazley makes room and swings hard at it but misses.
Take a bow Bazley. Just 4 required now from 2 balls.
19.4 T David to J Bazley
6 SIX!! Full toss ball on the stumps and Bazley clears his front leg and pulls it all the way over the mid-wicket for a massive six. They need just 4 runs off 2 balls now.
Make that 10 from 3 now. And Kuhnemann is run out at the non-striker's end.
19.3 T David to J Bazley
W WICKET!!! RUN OUT!!! Fuller ball on the off and Bazley drives it to the left of the bowler and David dives to his left and stops it. Kuhnemann looks for a quick single and was away from the crease, David hits the stumps as  Kuhnemann fails to make it into the crease.
10 from 4 now. Can you believe it? Wade is standing well behind the stumps to avoid any byes.
19.2 T David to J Bazley
0 Fuller ball down the leg, Bazley swings, and misses. A crucial dot ball from David.
19.1 T David to J Bazley
