That brings an end to our coverage for this game. Do join us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of my co-commentator Megh Mandaliya and scorer Manish Bishnoi. Tata. Bye Bye.
Michael Neser is named the Player of the Match.
Marnus Labuschagne (Brisbane Heat): "It happens all quickly in this format. It's nice to win back-to-back games and it has been a team effort altogether. Unbelievable feeling. Neser upfront was fantastic and Johnson as well has just come into the group and he feels like a Queenslander. He was amazing today. Delivered the right lines at the right time."
05:48 PM IST | Akshay: That's it. Brisbane Heat beat Hobart Hurricanes by 12 runs. The home crowd is loving this and the Hurricanes have let this slip out of their hands as they suffer their sixth loss of this year’s competition. The Heat grab their fifth win and move to the fifth spot in the points table.

The Hurricanes got off to the worst possible start while chasing 163. Michael Neser knocked over Ben McDermott on a golden duck on the second ball of the innings. He removed Zak Crawley on five in the third over as the Hurricanes were reduced 30/2 at the end of the powerplay. Caleb Jewell and Matthew Wade put 59 between them before the former fell on 18. Wade was going nicely from one end but he departed on 45.

The wicket of Wade allowed Heat to get back in the contest. The boundaries dried up and the required run rate crept above 10. Tim David fought the battle for the Hurricanes. He hit some lusty blows and kept them in the chase. With 47 required from the last three overs, David teed off. The game went down to the last over and with 18 required to defend in the last over, Spencer Johnson held his nerves to help his side win the game by 12 runs. David tried hard and remained unbeaten on 44 but it wasn't enough as they fell short of the target. Michael Neser was brilliant with the ball as he finished with figures of 3/27 in his four overs.

Earlier, Brisbane Heat were asked to bat first. They lost Josh Brown in the very first over. Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne led the recovery work. Khawaja was dismissed on 18 in the fifth over as Heat were struggling for a partnership. Matt Renshaw, coming in at four, took his time to settle in. He was well-supported by Sam Hain from the other end.

Renshaw took on Meredith in the 15th over but played one shot too many as he was dismissed in the same over on 41. The lower-order batters struggled to get going. Sam Hain remained unbeaten on 33 off 25 balls to power his side to 162 at the end of their quota of 20 overs. Riley Meredith and Joel Paris picked up two wickets each for the Hurricanes. Their batters then failed to step up as they lost the game by 12 runs.

19.6 S Johnson to T David
1 David finally makes some contact on this occasion but the Hurricanes are 12 runs short. Fuller and in the middle and off, David covers the line and drags that to long-on for a single. But it doesn't matter as Johnson has won a last-over thriller for the Brisbane Heat.
A little pause in play here as there is an invasion. The security guards take the person out and we are ready to go.
19.5 S Johnson to T David
0 Another dot. Good length with shapes into the middle on this occasion, David again goes for the glory shot but gets the inside edge to the pads for a dot. This has been a phenomenal last over from Johnson.
Aksha: A loud roar from The Gabba crowd as David fails to connect on it. 14 required from 2 now. Two legal deliveries will do it for the home team.
19.4 S Johnson to T David
0 Another dot. Exceptional bowling from young Johnson. Good length with the angle away from off, David again shuffles and goes across the line but misses it to the keeper, no run.
19.3 S Johnson to T David
2 Drags his length back and just wide of off stump, David stands tall and slaps that to long-off to scamper back for the second.
19.2 S Johnson to T David
0 A much important dot for the Heat and David is under the pump now. Good length and angling away from off, David shuffles and goes for a wild heave across the line but fails to get any blade on that as the ball passes to the keeper, no run.
19.1 S Johnson to T David
2 Fuller and outside off, David bides at the crease and slices that to sweeper cover, who dives and saves a boundary while the batters scamper across for a couple.
18 required from the last over. Tim David on strike and Spencer Johnson will bowl the last.

18.6 M Neser to F Ashraf
0 Short of a length and on the top of the middle, Ashraf pulls that uppishly towards deep mid-wicket but David denies a single to keep the strike.
18.5 M Neser to F Ashraf
6 SIXX! There is still some life left in this game. Ashraf gets off the mark with a huge maximum. Fuller and in the slot, Ashraf follows that and launches that over the bowler's head as the ball sails over the boundary ropes.
