That's it from the high octane contest from the Big Bash League. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide and scorer/analyst Chandan Kumar Singh. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
Caleb Jewell (Player of the Match): "It's been a little while since I have played this way. I didn't change much. I was batting nicely the last few games and the wicket was good to bat on. My job in the team is to go after the bowling in the powerplay with D'Arcy moving lower down the order. We needed some momentum and if we can carry it forward, it will be great."
Caleb Jewell is named the Player of the Match.
4:46PM IST: The Hobart Hurricanes have registered their third win of the season as they get home by 7 wickets with 16 balls remaining here at the Bellerive Oval. Quick recap to the game. The Adelaide Strikers won the toss and elected to bat first at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart and lost their opener Henry Hunt early in the innings.

Matt Short (38) and Chris Lynn then added 72 runs for the second wicket giving the Strikers an important base to their innings. Short was then sent back in the hut by Nathan Ellis and Patrick Dooley struck soon after sending back Adam Hose.

Colin de Grandhomme scored 30 in a 78 run stand with Lynn who scored his 25th BBL half century finishing with 87 off 58 deliveries with nine fours and three sixes in the innings. Ellis finished with 2/39. Dooley was joined by Riley Meredith and Mitchell Owen as they all chipped in with a wicket apiece.

In response, the Hurricanes openers Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott got off to a flier and added 50 runs in just 4.5 overs going on to add 36 more runs before the skipper Peter Siddle broke the stand in the 9th over sending back Caleb Jewell for 54 off just 28 deliveries hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes in his wonderful knock.

Ben McDermott also got to his fifty and finished with 53 in 33 deliveries before being bowled by Wes Agar trying to play a reverse hit. Rashid Khan then sent back Matthew Wade for a cheap score but Tim David (27 off 13) and D'Arcy Short (27 off 22) were unbeaten till the end and took the Hurricanes home.

Peter Siddle was the pick of the bowlers bowling an excellent spell of 1/21 in his four overs. Rashid and Agar chipped in a wicket apiece but were expensive. Only Harry Conway had the economy under check as every other bowler went for more than 10 runs an over besides him and Siddle.
