That's it from this game with Pakistan registering a couple of points ahead of their big clash against New Zealand tomorrow night. The hosts will be in action now over the weekend and will have to deal with the absence of Daryl Mitchell who is out injured with a fractured thumb. New Zealand and Pakistan face off tomorrow and then New Zealand and Bangladesh face off on Sunday. Do join us for all those fixtures and for other cricketing actions across the globe.

For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentator Hitesh Peddurwar alongside scorer/analyst Chandan Kumar Singh. Stay safe, happy, and cool. Goodbye and CHEERS!
Nurul Hasan (Bangladesh Captain): " Yeah little bit disappointed with the loss, the wicket was good our bowlers bowled pretty well. We need to improve in a few areas we lost a few wickets in the middle overs which cost us the match. Das batted really well. Taskin bowled pretty well good to see that."
Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): "Yes, we are happy as a team. The batting was good as Rizwan started well and was clinical as well. Yes, we are happy as we aimed to get 50 runs in the powerplay. Rizwan played through and Shan did well today as well. I think the bowlers were good. The wind was a factor as we had to adjust the bowlers from the top to bottom. Yes, definitely we have to improve our fielding and take our catches as well. It's important to take those half-chances against a quality side. New Zealand is a tough top team and we have to play well and win tomorrow night."
Mohammad Rizwan(Player of the match): "It's a proud moment for me to get this award. Talking about the wicket, the ball was gripping a bit at the start but the track became easy to bat in the later stage. I guess we were short of 10 runs but we bowled pretty well. Yeah, it was slippery a bit while running. It's a good feeling to be a number one T20I batter. If you place the ball properly then it becomes easy even when the boundaries are big."
Time for the presentation ceremony!!
So, Pakistan registers the first points of the Tri-Series as they beat Bangladesh by 21 runs defending 167 that they put on the board. Babar and his men will be happy with the win while Bangladesh did well to get close to the target as much as possible in the end.

Chasing a stiff target of 168 for the win, Bangladesh got off to a good start but never had anyone play the big innings like Mohammad Rizwan. The two openers got to double figures before getting dismissed. Litton Das looked good with an enterprising 35 off 26 balls. Afif Hossain chipped in with 25 off 23 balls. But Bangladesh lost 4/14 off the phase between Overs 11-15 to lose their way. Yasir Ali's unbeaten 42 off 21 balls took Bangladesh to a total of 146/8 as they went down by 21 runs and not by a bigger margin.

Mohammad Wasim Junior was the pick of the bowlers with 3/24 off 4 overs. Mohammad Nawaz bowled a great spell of 2/25 off 4 overs. Shadab Khan bowled 4 overs 1/30. Shahanawaz Dahani was miserly with 1/24 off 4 overs. Haris Rauf got a wicket as well as he went for 38 in 4 overs. Pakistan gave away 9 extras to Bangladeshi batters.

Earlier in the game, Pakistan put into bat first by Bangladesh got off to a steady start. Babar Azam was the initial aggressor before he slowed down and scored a slow 22 off 25 balls. Shan Masood scored an enterprising 31 off 22 balls as he looked good and fluent while he was there. Iftikhar chipped in with 13 off 8 balls. But it was Mohammad Rizwan once again who starred with the bat for Pakistan as he carried his bat through. He was initially going at run a ball for his first 30 runs but stepped it up and finished with a majestic and unbeaten 78 off 50 balls as Pakistan pummelled 51 runs off the last four overs to get to a competitive 167/5 in 20 overs with five extras given by Bangladesh.

Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh as he finished with 2-25 in 4 overs. Nasum Ahmed picked up a wicket and bowled a miserly spell of 1-22 off 4 overs. Mehidy Hasan Miraz bowled 2 overs one for 12 runs. Mustafizur was disappointing with 48 runs off 4 overs. Hasan Mahmud picked up a wicket for 42 runs in 4 overs. These two pacers went the distance.

So, a win for Pakistan by 21 runs to start their campaign with a win. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation ceremony that shall come your way soon.

4 FOUR!!! It doesn't matter though as Pakistan have won the game by 21 runs!!! Good length delivery on the middle stump line, Ali throws his bat hard at it and slaps it towards the extra covers region the ball runs away towards the fence for four runs!!
A brilliant effort from Dahani at long-off and we are going to check this to see whether Dahani is touching the ropes or not? Replays are in and it shows Dahani jumps from on the rope to pull it back. But the umpire gives it SIX as he was over the ropes from the get go. SIX signaled.
19.5 H Rauf to Y Ali
6 Is it a six???? Slower delivery on the fuller length, on the leg stump line, Ali plays an inside-out shot, he tries to smoke it over the long-off fence but Dahani near the fence leaps up in the air and grabs the ball. Dahani was standing on the ropes before he jumped so it's a six!!
19.4 H Rauf to Y Ali
4 FOUR!!!!! Fuller-length delivery on the off-stump line, Ali goes deep in his crease and crunches it towards the deep covers region the ball runs away towards the fence for four runs!!!
19.3 H Rauf to Y Ali
0 Change of pace again, a slower one on the back of the length outside the off-stump line, Ali misses the pull.
19.2 H Rauf to Y Ali
2 Slower delivery on the good length angling into the leg stump line, Ali dabs it towards deep square leg region and collects a couple of runs.
19.1 H Rauf to Y Ali
4 FOUR!!!! Fuller length delivery angling into the leg stump line, Ali makes room for himself on the leg side and drills it down the ground the ball runs away towards the fence for four runs!!!
An excellent over and spell for Mohammad Wasim Junior as he finishes with 3/24 off 4 overs. 42 needed off 6 balls. This game is over. How much closer can Bangladesh get to the target keeping in mind the Net Run Rate which could be vital?
