So, that's a wrap to our coverage of this 5th T20I. Hope all of you enjoyed this 5-match T20I series as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. Till next time, it's goodbye and goodnight from me Ayan Chatterjee alongside my esteemed co-commentator Arya Sekhar Chakraborty, alongside our scorer/analyst Manish Bishnoi. Stay tuned to our network for all the other cricketing action across the globe and across the format. Stay happy, safe, and cool. Until we meet again, cheers and ta-ta!
Hardik Pandya now goes up and collects the Gold Medal trophy from the dignatories and they celebrate with the trophy and why not. India has won the series 4-1 and they win their 5th successive series here. It's their 5th series win in 6 games here. Congratulations and it's happy times for Team India.
Hardik Pandya, India Skipper: "First of all, special to win on my debut captaincy to make a good start like this was special. It was all about focussing on the strengths. Yes, I would love to in the future, but now the focus is on playing well going forward. Focus on their skill sets and do well and express themselves to the world. I think we are enjoying ourselves and the management has given us the freedom to do that. So, we are on the dangerous side with that. I wanted to give Axar the new ball and he creates chances. The wrist-spinners are a weapon here against their batters. Not pre-planned and just based on conditions. I think we are on track. Preparation and environments we are ready. It's about enjoying and winning more games going forward. It's been fantastic. It seemed like we were playing at home. Thank you to the crowd and keep supporting us always. We felt we were playing and loved playing here."
Nicholas Pooran, West Indies Skipper: "Just not good enough. India came out well and attacked us. The bowlers are getting better. But a long way to go. Skills vs Skills. Just not up to the challenge and we deserve to lose this series. When you come up against a quality side, you have to execute your skills. We didn't do and we lost. We have areas to work on and hopefully, we have the self-belief to come back in the coming series. We were looking for an opener. King and Mayers were not there. So, we gave Holder an opportunity and see how he goes. That was the rationale. In hindsight, we could have played two spinners. But that's all in hindsight. Looking forward to the next series. Congratulations to India. We are looking forward to the New Zealand series. Thank you, America for the support. "
Arshdeep Singh, Player of the Series: "I guess it really feels great. Grateful to represent my country. I am focussing on the process as the team says and getting results. I give importance to process and bowling well in the nets. Keeping things simple helps me grow. I guess the talk is about adaptability. Whatever the demand of the team and the coaching staff, we have to do it. My greatest asset is keeping things simple. The captain backs the youngsters and the environment is good. That helps a lot. My mentor is my dad."
Axar Patel, Player of the Match: "My plan was to vary the pace and bowl stumps to stumps and it worked for me. The main thing is to back to my strength. We play loads of matches and the batters know that. So, keeping things simple and sticking to basics to be successful. The pitch is slow like Trinidad. The ball was turning while bowling fuller. So, I loved that. I am an all-rounder. Does not matter whether it's batting or bowling all-rounder."
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony with Daren Ganga.

Arya- It was Indian stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya who won the toss and opted to bat just to give themselves enough opportunities to bat first. It was Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer who opened the batting from India and got them off to a brisk start. The duo continued the tactics employed by India all through the series. Iyer in particular was the attacking partner, striking boundaries at will. Ishan Kishan departed soon after in the 5th over but that didn’t stop India from going after the West Indies bowlers.

Iyer was joined by Deepak Hooda in the middle and the duo continued to take the attack to the West Indies bowlers. Fours and sixes were coming thick and fast for India as the scoreboard kept soaring along. Both the batters struck some splendid shots during their partnership of 76 runs stand which laid the foundation for a late order surge by the power-hitters like Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik. Samson made 15 before departing while Hooda and Iyer made 38 and 64 each.

The West indies bowlers was impressive after the 10th over and did tie down the Indian batters during that stage. Hardik Pandya struggled to find the boundaries early on but took the attack to Jason Holder in the penultimate over, as he smashed him for 17 runs to take India over the 180 mark. It was some good hitting by Hardik which eventually got India to a score of 188 in their allotted 20 overs.

West Indies again needed a good start to begin with but it was indeed a strange decision to send Jason Holder as the opener. He didn’t bother the scorers as he was castled by Axar Patel on the 3rd deliver of the run-chase. Shamrah Brooks struck a six of Axar Patel in the 5th over and was dismissed the very next delivery as West Indies were reduced to 24/2. Axar finished the over off with the wicket of Devon Thomas.

Shimron Hetmyer started in an aggressive manner and took the attack to the Indian bowlers. He smashed a couple of fours straight up and then smashed as many as four sixes during his half-century. However, he got no support from the other end as the spin trio of Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi spun a web around the Windies batters and they could never really recover from that.

From 83/4 in the 12th over, West Indies had no answers in front of Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav as the two wrist spinners bowled some immaculate line and lengths and allowed the pitch to do the rest. They couldn't quire read the pace of most of the deliveries and was caught on the crease on several occasions. While Bishnoi took four wickets, it was three apiece for Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel.

Arya- A comprehensive victory for India in the end by a huge margin of 88 runs as they take the series by a 4-1 margin. Barring a sensational knock from the blade of Shimron Hetmyer, West Indies was never in the game and kept falling part with wickets at regular intervals. The spin trio of Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav took all the 10 wickets between them to skittle out West Indies for just 100 runs.
15.4 R Bishnoi to O McCoy
W That's up in the air and the catch is taken at long-off. That's it that's the game.  Flighted delivery inviting the big shot, McCoy goes for the big one and gets the height not the distance. The ball carries to Deepak Hooda at long-off. The game is done as McCoy departs here. Bishnoi has 2 in the over and 4 in the match. 100 all out in 15.4 overs.
15.3 R Bishnoi to O McCoy

15.1 R Bishnoi to S Hetmyer
W WICKET!  Flighted delivery here, Hetmyer lofts it down the ground and chips it uppishly towards long-on where the catch is taken easily. Hetmyer mistimes it but he played a lone hand of 56 off 35 balls. The game is done now officially as the Windies lose their 9th for 100 in 15.1 overs.
