Tugral: So, we are done here with England-W winning the game by 26 runs, as they restricted South Africa-W to a total of 141 while chasing down a total of 167 which proved to be a bit too much for the Proteas. With this win, England have eased their way to the semi-finals.
SA-W got off to a scintillating start while chasing a total of 167 runs, Bosch and T Brits looked in a good touch they stitched a partnership of 64 runs for the first wicket. At one stage it was looking like it will be an easy chase for the SA-W. But Eng-W fought back pretty well and they scalped a few quick wickets which put the SA-W on the backfoot. Sophie gave England the first breakthrough in her very first over, she uprooted Bosch's (32 off 28) stumps. Tamzin Brits (38 off 37) lost her wicket shortly after Bosch was dismissed due to a poor shot.
Laura Wolvaardt took charge of South Africa's sinking innings and scored at a blistering pace. Chloe also assisted Laura, but she could not prolong the partnership and fell victim to Katherine after only 16 runs. Preez also got out cheaply and returned to Pavillion. In the end, Laura got the support of the skipper of her team, and both tried to change the course of the match but failed. Laura Wolvaardt and Sune Luus played an unbeaten knock of 41* off 33 and 9* off 9, and South Africa suffered a 26-run defeat.
However, from the bowling side, after England got the first breakthrough, he did not give the South African team any chance to return to the match. Katherine Brunt was an effective and impactful bowler throughout the innings. He was the pick of the bowlers for England she took one wicket and gave away 16 runs in his 3 overs. Sciver, Kemp, and Ecclestone took one wicket each. England showed a great performance with bat and ball, whose reward they got at the end of the match.
