Harsh: And Lancashire wins it by four wickets in an epic run chase. The superb batting performance made it look so easy for a commentator for me. The massive target of 372 runs was never easy to chase down, but it was the batting that made the run chase look good. The opening partnership of 130 runs with Wells and Jennings set the temperament for the Lancashire batsman. After Wells got out on 84 Jennings continued his amazing display of batting in dominating way. The shots which he played were quite a treat to watch. George Lavelle played the innings of his life today, an amazing performance of 61 runs in 34 balls gave the final touch to the run chase.
As it was a batting pitch it was obvious that it was going to be a high-scoring match. The total of 742 runs scored today shows that it was a batting-dominated pitch where batsmen dominated very well. The superb of Vasconcelos in the first inning gave the start that Northamptonshire was looking for, McManus finished the inning with 44 runs and gave the finishing touch to the innings.
