So, after all, anticipations and predictions throughout the tournament, we are now down with two teams, Pakistan and England, who will be facing each other in the grand finale at the iconic MCG on Sunday! Jos Buttler (England Captain): "Yeah, it does. Ahh, certainly does. I think the character we showed after our loss against Ireland to come up against New Zealand to beat them was excellent. Hales was brilliant to come to the party against a quality bowling lineup.
To be honest, all our 11 players played their part really well. It was a team effort. To be able to have such a big batting order is a blessing to have. Having Adil Rashid at number 11 speaks volumes about our squad. I think we have been brilliant tonight, and it needs enjoyment.

Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "Yeah absolutely, it is disappointing how we turned up today. I thought we still batted well but we were not at all good with the ball. It wasn't a total where a team could chase down this total with no wickets. Ah, see I think when it comes to knockout stages, it comes to individuals as well. You cannot teach them to handle pressure. They have all handled it. They have been playing IPL. Some of these guys can handle it.
Again, I felt that the way we started with the ball was not good, maybe a bit nervy. The way Bhuvi started, there was a bit of swing but not from the right areas. We wanted to keep it tight and not give width. Keeping it tight was something we spoke off, and from there if the batting side plays good shots we will take on. This was something where we didn't do well.
I think the way we bounced back in the first game it was really good. Again in the Bangladesh game, I think it was a tricky one. If you look at that match it could go anywhere. I thought we held our nerves and were doing well. But didn;t actually happen today."

Earlier in the match, England won the toss and opt to field first. India lost KL Rahul (5 off 5) early once again in a crunch game, and it was Virat Kohli who once again showed the world why he is called the Adelaide hero. While Rohit Sharma struggled to score freely, Kohli ticked the boxes as the duo added 47 runs for the second wicket. Chris Jordan, who was playing his first game in this World Cup, broke this stand by dismissing the Indian skipper (27 off 28). Suryakumar Yadav (14 off 10) played a couple of delightful strokes, but his stay lasted only 10 balls.
Then Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli took the attack on England with a 61-run partnership for the 4th wicket. While Virat (50 off 40) was out after his 37th T20I fifty, Hardik continued his show till the end. Hardik was hit wicket in the final ball of the innings, but before that, he clubbed 4 fours and 5 sixes in his 33-ball 63 to propel the team to 168/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
For England, despite being expensive, Chris Jordan (4-0-43-3) picked three wickets, while Adil Rashid (4-0-20-1) and Chris Woakes (3-0-24-1) scalped a wicket each.
