Milestone
That is it from this virtual quarter-final, with Pakistan making it to the semi-finals as the fourth team. Now, switch to another tab on our websites and apps as we bring you all the live-action of the match between India and Zimbabwe. So, that is it for the day from this game. I am AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Arijit Kundu and Badal Pareek and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav brought you all the live-action of this mouth-watering fixture. We will meet in the next match. Until then, it is a goodbye!
Babar Azam (Pakistan Captain): "It's a team game. Cricket is a funny game. Appreciate all my team the way they played all matches. Pitch wasn't easy to bat on. Little bit two-paced. Rizwan and I decided to go long, but it didn't work out. Haris displayed aggression, which was refreshing to see. I'm excited for the semifinals. We're all excited to play."
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh Captain): "We were 70/1 at the halfway point. I was hoping for 145-150, which would have been a reasonable total on that pitch. Knowing it would be difficult for the new batters, I wanted the established batters to carry through to the end, which did not happen. In terms of results, this is our best showing in T20 World Cups. I should have done better. However, with the new guys coming in and the changes, this is the best we could hope for. I could have done better in terms of my own performance. I'd like to play as long as I'm in good shape and performing well."
Shaheen Shah Afridi | Player of the Match: "I've gotten better. It's not easy to come back from an injury and bowl 140kmph, but I'm giving it my all. We are very pleased as a group. We've performed admirably. The plan was to bowl in the right spots as quickly as possible. (When asked if they are looking forward to the semi-finals) We are now looking forward to the final (laughs)."
12:59 PM IST | Pakistan have held their nerves to win this game and enter the semi-finals!

Earlier in the match, Bangladesh won the toss and opt to bat first. At the halfway mark, Bangladesh were 70/1 and looked like they were cruising through, but wickets fell regularly, and Pakistan came back well in the second half of the innings to restrict Bangladesh to a well below-par total of 127/8 in their allotted 20 overs. While Najmul Hossain Shanto was the top-scorer with a 48-ball 74, Afif Hossain gave some finishing touch with an unbeaten 20-ball 24.

Apart from these two batters, Bangladesh batters did not have a good day as they succumbed to a Shaheen Shah Afridi special, who finished with the figures of 4-0-22-4. While Shadab Khan picked a couple of wickets, Iftikhar Ahmed and Haris Rauf scalped a wicket each.

Chasing a semi-final spot, Pakistan openers Mohammad Rizwan (32 off 32) and Babar Azam (25 off 33) gave the team a cautious yet solid start as they added 57 runs in 10.3 overs. While Nasum Ahmed scalped Babar, Rizwan was taken care of by Ebadot Hossain in the next over. The new number three, Mohammad Nawaz, was undone by a brilliant piece of a direct hit by Litton Das in the 15th over.

Mohammad Haris (31 off 18) played a blinder of a cameo to take the team closer to the victory line but failed to finish the game. While Iftikhar Ahmed, too, failed to take the team home, Shan Masood (24* off 14) got the runs they needed by nudging the ball around to complete the victory by 5 wickets.

Stay tuned for the presentations!
Pakistan have qualified for the Semi-Final here! Despite all the struggle and humiliation at the hands of King Kohli, they somehow manage to get over the line.
18.1 E Hossain to S Masood
2 Full in length down the leg side as the batter gets a blade on it and the ball races down to fine leg, they manage to get a couple here and seal a spot in the semi-final.

17.6 M Rahman to I Ahmed
W I guess I jinxed it here! Length ball on off stump, going away with the angle as Ahmed goes for the biggie, a top edge high into the sky as Shanto at backward point comes underneath it and takes it with ease. He should have done the job here but the writing is on the wall, it is Pakistan who will prevail eventually.
Just get it done with a biggie!
17.5 M Rahman to S Masood
1 Full and just outside off stump as Masood digs it out towards deep cover-point for a single.
17.4 M Rahman to S Masood
2 Short pitch delivery around the helmet of the batter who pulls it behind square for a double.
17.3 M Rahman to S Masood
0 In the block hole! Pace on yorker at the stumps as Masood makes sure he digs it out. Bangladesh fielders make a meal of it but it still is a dot ball.
17.2 M Rahman to I Ahmed
1 A touch short of length angling away from the stumps, inside edge onto the pads as the ball rolls towards the right of the bowler. They run hard and convert a single here.
Pakistan is a maximum away from the semi-finals!
17.1 M Rahman to S Masood
1 Back of a length angling in towards the off stump as the batter guides it down to third man for a single.
