So England have made it into the Semi-Finals alongside New Zealand from Group 1 and they will wait for tomorrow to get to know their opposition at the Adelaide Oval.
It's been a fascinating competition so far in the ongoing T20 World Cup and we are still 6 games away to witness the champions. Till now, no home team has ever won the T20I version of this event, and Australia have also evaporated now.

Jos Buttler (England Captain): "Didn't enjoy the match, how close it was Ah!! Yes, he [Ben Stokes] is made for those situations and we can have a sense of calm when he is there. He can play in all the facets of the game and is a great competitor. It's great to see him grow.
It was fabulous to see how Adil Rashid bowled today. A lot of people look at the end product but we need to see how well he has been bowling well. I think he [Adil Rashid] has been unlucky at times.
Yeah, he has been good, he has been growing and growing. he is a real method to compete and likes to be in crunch moments of the game. He has been coming up well.
Yeah hopefully, I thought we played beautifully, the one over he took on Sri Lanka was a game-changing over as well. Yeah just excited, we just wanted to find a way to make it to the semi-finals and wanted to do well."

Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka captain): "Yeah, it was an amazing fight. We could have done better. I think the wicket played better, we could have done better in batting. Even the English batters struggled at the first part.
I think we didn't play according to the wicket. We gave a good fight in the last 10 overs. It was the powerplay where we failed to play well. Credits to Alex Hales and Jos Buttler for playing well.
I think we played good cricket in patches. We also started with a few injuries. If the injuries were not there we could have done better. Our main bowlers got injured who did well in the Asia Cup. We need to polish up where we didn't do well. Yes, he [Wanindu Hasaranga] did well and Maheesh Theekshana were good. Today, Lahiru Kumara and Kasun Rajitha, and Dhananjaya de Silva did well. Yeah, power-hitting is a key area.
We need to make sure that we power well. We will look for more new talents as well. Yes, catching hasn't been upto the mark, and we need to do well there. I want to thank the colourful and wonderful spectators for cheering for us. I wish to thank all of them also who are sitting at home."

Adil Rashid (Man of the Match): "It was a tight game. It happens in T20 cricket. We bowled well and Stokesy did really terrific in the end. I think they bowled well and built the pressure but thankfully we got over the winning line. It was a great team effort including all the bowlers as we were terrific from the start. Different grounds here so we try to adapt to that. It’s T20 cricket so you need to be best all the time so we tried that. Expect a flatter wicket or might get to see some spin there (Adelaide). Yes, will get the same support there as the fans support us everywhere we go."
4:53 PM IST | What a tricky finish to see the end of Group 1 of the Super 12 stages. With Sri Lanka’s loss, Australia have been knocked off from the mega event in their own yard. England qualifies with this win but would be a bit disappointed to give the Lankans a chance after having 70 runs in the powerplay.

Winning the toss, Dasun Shanaka, the skipper of Sri Lanka had opted to bat first. Pathum Nissanka gave a flying start to Sri Lanka and lacked support from the other end. Kusal Mendis looked good initially but later got out cheaply. It was Nissanka who steered the innings deep and players like Dhanajaya de Silva, and Charith Asalanka failed to step up.
Wickets kept on tumbling on regular occasions and it was Pathum Nissanka who notched up a fifty. He scored 67 off 45 deliveries and got out in the middle. Bhanuka Rajapaksa failed to time the ball in the end, credit to some exceptional bowling from Sam Curran and Mark Wood. Sri Lanka could make just 141 runs at the end of 20 overs. Mark Wood was the peak of the bowling bagging a three-fer of his three overs.
In reply, Alex Hales and Jos Buttler gave a flying start to England after respecting Maheesh Theekshana in the first over of the innings. Hales and Buttler smoked the bowlers apart in the start - be it Kasun Rajitha or Wanindu Hasaranga or Lahiru Kumara.
The first wicket to go was Jos Buttler when England was at 75. It was Wanindu Hasaranga with the first blood and soon the wickets kept on flowing. Hales soon followed him and went out for 47 off 30 balls. Soon, Lahiru Kumara, and Dhanajaya de Silva joined the party and removed the middle order of England barring Ben Stokes who had come up the order at one-down in place of an injured Dawid Malan.
England needed 21 runs from the last 18 balls in the end and it was Stokes who stayed from one end and steered the scoreboard deeper. Sri Lanka was terrific with the change-ups and turned the tables for some moments.
They needed 5 runs off the ultimate over but in the end, Chris Woakes scored the winning runs with Stokes at the other end. England made it through into the semi-finals, kicking Australia out of the contest.
