That's it from our coverage of this humdinger between South Africa and England which has been pocketed by the Proteas. Do join us tomorrow for another Women's World Cup game and for other international cricket happening across the globe. For now, this is me Ayan Chatterjee signing off on behalf of my esteemed co-commentators Arijit Kundu and Ovaise alongside our scorer analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Until next time, till we meet again, goodbye, stay safe, happy, and cool. Thanks for tuning in to this telecast. TA-TA! and cheers to all.
Sune Luus (Winning South Africa captain): "We always come good when we put the opposition under pressure and today was no different. We have. a world-class bowling attack. "Whoaa!! Kapp was brilliant today. An inspiration for a lot of young one's who are watching the game.Like I've said it , we've made history today. And we were really brilliant. It's exciting, Thank you so much."
Heather Knight (Losing England Captain): "Painful losing three close games in a row. We shot ourselves in the foot at times with our fielding. Have to turn things around and keep believing. Would've liked 15-20 more. Couldn't quite get over the line and defend it. Have no other option, have to win that game and win that well (against India). It's not through lack of effort as I said."
Marizanne Kapp (Player of the match):  "First of all, my thanks to Jesus Christ. I'm so glad that we did it and a relief for all of us. I think I backed myself for the performance. I've been working on a few things and fortunately today it came off. We did good as a team, and batted well in the end too. Just happy that Dane Van Niekerk watched. Sighs!!"
That's the end of the game and South Africa achieves their highest chase in a World Cup game and their first win against England in 20 years. The Proteas make it 3 out of 3 as they have won three close games while the defending champions are staring down the barrel with 3 consecutive losses as Bangladesh is placed above them. What a great game we have had here at the Bay Oval.

South Africa chased this down in 49.2 overs as they rode on magnificent innings at the top of the order from Laura Wolvaardt 77 off 101 balls that set up the chase. She was ably supported by Brits 23, Sune Luus 36 off 39 balls. Let's not forget Marizanne Kapp her 32 off 42 balls to go with five wickets set it up for the Proteas. Special mentions to Tryon 15 off 13 balls and Trisha Chetty 11 who was unbeaten alongside Shabnaim Ismail who hit a crucial boundary at the end of the day.

For England, Sophie Ecclestone was the pick of the bowlers with 1-23 in 10 overs. A couple of wickets for Anya Shrubsole and a wicket each for Kate Cross, Natalie Sciver, and Charlie Dean. They tried their best, the fielding was awful as they dropped a lot of catches including three times of Laura Wolvaardt. They fell short in the end.

Earlier in the game, it was Beaumont's 62 alongside Amy Jones's 53 that helped England get to 235-9. Dunkley contributed with 27, Sciver scored 16, but there were no innings of any substance for England. For the Proteas' bowlers, Marizzane Kapp stole the show with her fifer 10 overs 5-45. A couple of wickets for Klaas and a wicket for Khaka as the spinners of South Africa struggled today.

So, South Africa goes second in the points table with three wins out of three games level on points with the Australians behind on Net Run Rate. England has played three and lost three and the defending champions are placed second from bottom ahead of Pakistan who has lost all four of their games. A rarity that a chasing side wins the game tonight. Stay tuned for the post-match presentation coming your way.
49.2 N Sciver to T Chetty
1 Over the top of the fielder on the onside and South Africa makes history by defeating England in World Cups. Length delivery from the bowler into the right hander, and. the batter mistimes a pull, but just enough to get over the inner circle. Single taken on these are the winning runs for the proteas.England's hunt for victory still continues.
49.2 N Sciver to T Chetty
WD Down the legside this time and called a wide. One more run needed and you simply can't offer bonuses at this juncture of the match.
Run-Out check sent upstairs. Chetty with the dive. This is close. The bat is beyond the line. NOT OUT. 2 runs completed.
49.1 N Sciver to T Chetty
2 Down the leg stump line this time, and the batter flicks it down the fine leg region. They run hard for a double here and the bails are blown at the keeper's end as Chetty dives forward to make ground. This has gone upstairs and it could be close one. Its witnessed on the big screen that the batter has made inside the crease and therefore the decision of notout remains.
Arijit: 4 runs required of the last over,

48.6 A Shrubsole to S Ismail
0 Length delivery into the left hander, slightly outside the leg stump. Ismail goes for a slam down the ground but finds the fielder at mid on.
48.5 A Shrubsole to T Chetty
1 Length delivery outside the off, and Chetty punches it towards the cover point region and gets a single. Seems like the game is in court of South Africa now.
48.4 A Shrubsole to S Ismail
1 Full and into the leg stump line and Ismail clips it past the short leg region and gets a single.
48.3 A Shrubsole to S Ismail
4 Back of a length delivery outside the off, way too much room on the offside. Ismail strikes this backward of square on the offside and the ball races away towards the boundary ropes. Change in angle due to a left hander, and the impact is visible.
