So that's it from the coverage of match number 23 of the ICC Twenty20 World cup 2021. I hope you enjoyed our coverage, it's time for match number 24 to commence. Another huge encounter between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Enjoy our coverage for that match as well.

So here's me Ninaad Dixit, signing off along with Arjun Bhalla and Anurag Das Gupta! Stay tuned for more cricket coverage on OneCricket and CricketExchange!
Nicholas Pooran, West Indies, stand-in captain:

"It's tough to manage all the players as everyone is experienced, it's tough to take decision but everyone supported me. We believed that we can win and backed ourselves to win the game.

Akeal has been bowling really well in the tournament and proved his worth today again. I thought bowling Roston Chase on this wicket won't be a great decision and luckily all the five bowlers chipped in well today.

The medical team is working with Pollard. He hit a vital six even after an injury which proves how brilliant a leader he is. All the young players including me look up to him and try to be like him in the future."
Mahmudullah, Bangladesh skipper:

"I think Liton's wicket was very crucial as both of us were set. I think if it went for a six, we would have won, tall fielders always add a  positive note in the fielding team.

The wicket wasn't that good to play your stroke, if you bowl back of a length, it was tough to score.

Mahedi and Shoriful bowled really well, getting us the breakthrough at the beginning. Taskin was brilliant as well. We had a close game, I think our batting fell short and we also need to come better as a fielding unit."
Nicholas Pooran: "Really happy with my performance. Someone had to take the responsibility and it was me today. In the last few games, I have thrown my wicket away, but today I wanted to finish things off for my side. It was a tactical decision for me to play lower down the order. We missed Polly in the middle overs. I have been working hard for the past few months as things just hadn't gone my way. I am always confident about my game and skills."
Nicholas Pooran is adjudged the Player of the Match.
Ninaad: A brilliant but tight finish to the game as get over the line in the final over as the champions West Indies live another day! Bangladesh needed 13 off the final over but the experienced Andre Russell kept his nerves and defended the total.

Bangladesh won yet another toss but elected to chase today on a slow Sharjah surface. The powerplay went well for the Bangladesh bowlers as they dismissed the openers cheaply, the dangerous Evin Lewis and the universe boss Chris Gayle who was promoted to open the batting in place of Lendl Simmons.

Debutant Roston Chase batted at number 3 and played an anchoring knock as he scored a crucial 39 off 46 balls with just two boundaries. Skipper Kieron Pollard was struggling in the heat and retired hurt before coming back in the final over to score 14 off 18 deliveries with a towering six.

Wicketkeeper and vice captain Nicholas Pooran provided the much needed boost in the death overs as he hit four sixes and a four in his knock of 40 off just 22 balls. Shoriful Islam was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 20 in his four overs. Taskin Ahmed bowled an economic spell while making a comeback in the Bangladesh XI.

West Indies in reply, started well in the powerplay and also picked up two wickets. Shakib Al Hasan who was opening in T20 internationals for the first time was dismissed for a paltry nine off 12 balls. Wicketkeeper Liton Das played the anchoring role for Bangladesh but was dismissed in the penultimate over trying to slog one over long on.

Skipper Mahmudullah (31 not out off 24) did well in the end but his knock wasn't good enough to take the Bangladesh team over the line. Every Windies bowler with one wicket each with Jason Holder being the pick of the bowlers as he conceded only 22 runs in his four. DJ Bravo and Andre Russell were brilliant at the death as the latter defended 13 runs in the final over.

19.6 A Russell to M Riyad
0 THERE IT IS! Andre Russell has done it for the West Indies! A fine margin, but a victory nevertheless. West Indies have won this match by 3 runs. It was fuller on the off. Mahmudullah backs away and fails to get a bat on ball as he looks to squeeze this through the off side..
19.5 A Russell to M Riyad
2 Misfield and it allows Mahmudullah to come back for a second run. This was fuller, right in the blockhole. Mahmudullah drills it down to long on and a misfield from Holder at long on allows Mahmudullah to come back for a second run..
19.4 A Russell to M Riyad
2 Dropped it!! How costly will that be? Should have been taken at this level. Russell dugs it short as Mahmudullah miscues his pull and finds the fielder at deep backward square who charges towards the ball, puts in a dive, but fails to grab it cleanly. A couple of crucial runs taken...
19.3 A Russell to M Riyad
2 Nails a perfect yorker here! Mahmudullah somehow manages to squeeze this towards the vacant mid on region. The fielder from mid off sprints to his right and keeps them down to a couple of runs..
19.2 A Russell to A Hossain
1b Slower length delivery on the off. Hossain goes for a swipe across the line and misses it completely. However, the batters had the game awareness to scamper a quick single. Pooran has a shy at the stumps and misses it..
19.1 A Russell to A Hossain
2 Tries to be cheeky as Hossain shuffles across the stumps. Russell follows him and pitches a low full toss. Hossain tries to scoop this past the keeper, but just didn't get the desired connection and it narrowly beats the short fine leg fielder for a couple..

18.6 D Bravo to L Das
W Holes out at long on!! The tall Jason Holder fetches it cleanly and Liton Das has to walk back to the pavilion. Another twist in this cracker of a contest. DJ Bravo deliberately pitches it slower on the off. Das had to go for the big slog as he doesn't get the intended timing and finds Jason Holder at long on who leaps and takes a well judged catch in the end. He stays inside the ropes and takes it cleanly...
18.5 D Bravo to M Riyad
1 Fires in a quicker length delivery on the off. Mahmudullah finds the cover-point fielder with his attempted square drive. Nonetheless, a cheeky single taken..
18.4 D Bravo to L Das
1 Slower delivery on the off. Das shuffles across as he doesn't get the intended timing on his scoop. The ball trims the inner part of the bat and rolls behind keeper for a run..
