So that's goodbye from me, Anurag, and my partner Badal Pareek from the comm box. Do join us tomorrow for the BBL doubleheader. Till then, take care!!

Glenn Maxwell "We really needed this win, had to keep ourselves alive, although we still need to win the next match and then hope for some results to go our way. It looks good when it comes off, we started well, and the way they finished shows the power in this batting line-up. We did the match-ups with the ground, the dimensions, the size of the ground played a part as well. We kept taking wickets, I saw the catch on the replay and felt a bit special indeed"
Glenn Maxwell is the Player of the Match.
The Brisbane Heats score 149 runs in their 20 overs. The Stars were given a target of 150 runs. Maxwell and Clarke did the majority of the scoring for the Stars as they won by 8 wickets. They did it in 13.5 overs, it was some hitting by the Star batters.

Brisbane Heats won the toss and decided to bat first. Things didn't really go according to plan for them as they could only manage to score 149 runs in their 20 overs. They got off to a decent start and were on course for a decent first innings total. Things got difficult in the middle as they lost back to back wickets. The scoring rate dropped and Star bowlers were on top of the Heats through the middle overs. Zampa and Maxwell made life difficult for the Heat batter out there in the middle. Ben Duckett played a lone hand as he scored 51 runs off 42 balls. He showed grit and determination out there in the middle. It was a gem of an innings as it helped the Heats to get to a respectable total.

150 was the target for the Star as they walked out for the chase. Maxwell and Clarke went all out from ball one. They smoked the Heat bowlers to all parts of the ground. They were going at over 10 runs per over. The manner in which the two batted, 150 felt like a very small total. They put together a 100 runs stand for the 1st wicket. Clarke was the one who took matters into his own hands and scored 62 runs off 36 balls. Their partnership almost ensured a victory for the Stars. Post their departure Stoinis and Cartwright smashed them to an 8 wicket victory with 37 balls remaining.

The Stars needed 8 points in the last two encounters to go through, they have started with a win and with their batting order back in form things look very good for them.
13.5 J Bazley to M Stoinis
6 SIXX!! Stoinis ends the match in style. That is the confirmation and the Stars have done it easily. The ball lands just over the long on ropes and the Stars win by 8 wickets and with more than 6 overs to go. On a hard length around off, Stoinis plays a tennis like shot that clears the long on ropes easily for a maximum.
13.4 J Bazley to M Stoinis
2 Bangs in short on the middle,  Stoinis mistimes the pull over the mid on fielder for a couple more.
13.3 J Bazley to M Stoinis
0 Stoinis makes room and Bazely fires this way outside off and he gets away with it. Clever bowling from him.
13.2 J Bazley to M Stoinis
4 FOURR!! Stoinis finds the gap once again and he moves into the 20s. A brilliant cameo by the Aussie international. Back of a length on the body. He makes enough room to get it over the mid on fielder for a boundary.
13.1 J Bazley to H Cartwright
1 Short on the leg stump, Cartwright pulls it to the on side for one.

12.6 M Swepson to M Stoinis
2 Good length delivery on off stumps, Stoinis pushes it towards long-off with soft hands and sneaks in a couple of runs.
12.5 M Swepson to M Stoinis
6 How has that travelled all the way? That is brutal strength from Marcus Stoinis. Quicker length delivery on the middle and leg. Stoinis casually slogs it over the deep mid wicket fence for a maximum.
12.4 M Swepson to M Stoinis
2 Tossed up on the off, Stoinis mistimes the lofted drive towards extra cover for a couple.
12.3 M Swepson to M Stoinis
6 SIXXX!! The power of Stoinis comes into play as he smashes one out of the park. Just out of the reach of the long on fielder. Quicker one on the stumps, Stoinis stays back and hoicks it over the wide long on ropes.
12.2 M Swepson to H Cartwright
1 Works the fuller one down the ground towards long on for one.
12.1 M Swepson to H Cartwright
6 SIX!! That is muscled by Cartwright. Immense power from the right-hander. Length delivery on the middle. Cartwright makes room and slams it over the cow corner ropes for a maximum.
