That's it from the coverage of this game. Do tune in for Scorchers vs Strikers which has been going on right now. This is Rohit Yadav along with my fellow commentators Ajay Ahire and Rishabh Gandhi signing it off from here.
Matthew Wade has been chosen as 'Player of the match' for his 93(46)
Earlier in the game- it was Matthew Wade's show in first half. As if he was batting on different surface, he was creaming everything into boundaries. On other side D'Arcy Short struggled a lot in the beginning but once Wade departed, he took over from him to give them a very strong finish. He completed the fifty in 42 balls but finished the innings with 73(51), also Caleb Jewell chipped in the death overs with sparkling knockof 42(23). Steve O'Keefe was most economical bowler for Sixers with 4-0-30-0
It's weird chase by Sydney Sixers as they never looked like the team who were chasing almost 11 RPO at the beginning of the chase. They neither forced the pace in powerplay, nor they took any extra risks in middle overs to put pressure back on Hurricanes. Josh Philippe 72(46) was only one for Sixers who took connected some big hits but even he never looked like the man who would take them over the line. Though Sixers were hard done by the rain break as it took away one over of power surge from them in shortened game. For Hurricanes birthday boy Joel Paris was most successful bowler for Hurricanes with figures of 4-0-35-3
That's it. A comprehensive 44-run win for Hobart Hurricanes. Matthew Wade led from the front with a remarkable knock of 93(46) and there were hardly any moment when Sydney Sixers looked like chasing it
