So thats all from the commentary box. This is Arya Sekhar Chakraborty signing off on the behalf of my co-commentators Arjun Bhalla and Kingshuk Kusari.
Arya: Qalandars won the toss and opted to bowl. It was a perfect call given the history of the tournament, especially in this edition. Paul Stirling looked in great shot and his bat made some crunching sound en route to his knock of 26. There was a lull in the scoring rate in the middle overs which was given some much-needed impetus by Joe Clarke who smashed a whirlwind knock of 13 deliveries which included 4 fours and a couple of sixes. It was his knock that eventually propelled Team Abu Dhabi to a score of 100. It never looked enough and it was the case by the end of the day.
Arya: A target of 101 was never going to challenge the Qalandars. This has been a pretty easy run chasing ground and they keep that intact. A brilliant opening partnership between Tom Banton and Sharjeel Khan set the tone for the partnership and in the end it was an easy chase for the Qalandars. Sohail Akhtar also looked in great touch during en route to 27 of 17 deliveries. While Banton scored 30 of 14 deliveries, Sharjeel chipped in with a whirlwind knock of 40 of 21 deliveries. The bowling performance wasn't up to the mark as they kept leaking rns and bowled several loose deliveries.
Arya: So thats a comprehensive victory for the Qalandars. Two wins in two games. What a sensational all-round performance from the Qalandars. It was a tough gig for the Team Abu Dhabi bowlers as the Qalandars romped home by 9 wickets and with 10 deliveries to spare.
Arjun: The Qalandars chase down the target with some ease but one should really applaud their bowling who all kept players like Gayle, Stirling, and Duckett quiet. The spin twins were sensational with the ball in hand!
8.2 Usman Shinwari to Sharjeel Khan
4 FOUR MORE and Sharjeel Khan seals the deal for the Qalandars!!! Full-toss outside the off-stump and Sharjeel slaps it again to covers and wraps up. The batting team seals the deal in some controlling fashion. It was really a one-sided affair for the Qalandars with both ball and bat!
8.1 Usman Shinwari to Sharjeel Khan
4 Back of length outside off and Khan carves it over off side ring for a couple of runs!!! NO!!! Overton cannot keep it in running back from covers
