So thats all from the commentary box folks. Like always we enjoyed every bit of the match and was a pleasure bringing all the live updates for you. Till the next time, me, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty signing off on the behalf of my fellow commentators Kingshuk Kusari and Akshay Bhide.
Arya: The partnership of 145 came to an end in the 15th over but the Hurricanes were well and truly in the box seat and they needed to carry on the momentum. Thet looked well set in scoring in excess of 200 but some sensational bowling towards the back end of the innings restricted the Hurricanes to 189. Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis and Jake Ball bagged a couple of wickets each. In the end the score of 189 proved to be just enough as they still have a chance of going through to the next phase.
Arya: Earlier in the day it was Syndey Sixers skipper Moises Henriques who won the toss and put the oppositions in. The opening partnership was quite staggering as Matthew Wade and D'Arcy Short literally tormented the opposition bowlers with their free-flowing strokeplay which they were lacking during the course of the tournament. Wade, in particular, looked in ominous touch and everything he touched turned to gold. He kept plundering the Sixers all around the park en route to his knock of 86 of 44 deliveries which was studded with 10 fours and 3 sixes. Short also played a stunning knock of 72 and shared a mammoth 145 runs partnership for the opening wicket with Wade.
Arya: It was Sandeep Lamichhane who again turned the match on its head with wickets in back to back deliveries. Yet again the Hurricanes regained the ascendancy and yet again they needed to steady the ship. Silk looked in great touch and kept them in the game till the last over despite a cluster of wickets at the other end. With 29 required of the final over, Riley Meredith faltered a bit with two no balls which gave the Sixers a realistic chance. However in the end the target was just a bit too much as the Hurricanes registered a 7 runs victory to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.
Arya: Chasing a target of 189 was never going to be easy for the Sixers but with the batting line-up they had, it was always on the cards. However the start for the Sixers was far from impressive. Josh Philippe played a sensational shot to begin the innings but 3 quick wickets put them in the backfoot. Nathan Elis and Scott Boland provided the much-needed breakthroughs and they need a partnership to harbour hopes of clawing their way back into the match. From there on it was a great partnership between Jordan Silk and Moises Henriques which helped them claw their way back into the match. Both the batters executed some good proper cricketing shots and kept the required ret under check
Arya: So that was a big win as far as the Hobart Hurricanes are concerned. Against the Sixers it wasn't going to be an easy task but they eventually held their nerves and eeked out a narrow 8 runs victory to keep them in the hunt in the tournament.

1-56(4.0)
19.6 Riley Meredith to Ben Dwarshuis
1 smashes the low full toss down the deep extra cover region and takes a single, so that's the end of the match and Hurricanes stays in the race with a much needed victory
19.5 Riley Meredith to Ben Dwarshuis
4 FOUR!!! full from Meredith, Dwarshuis hits this hard down the ground and finds the straight boundary, a valiant effort from the wide long-on fielder is not enough to stop the boundary
Akshay: And Finally Short holds onto one. That should be the game for the Hurricanes unless something dramatic happens.
19.4 Riley Meredith to Jordan Silk
W WICKET!!!! well played Jordan Silk, back of a length slower, Silk hits this pretty well, swats this down the midwicket region but the big boundaries do it for the bowling team, straight down the throat of the deep midwicket fielder, he didn't have to move an inch, a great inning from Jordan Silk, kept his team in the match single-handedly
19.3 Riley Meredith to Jordan Silk
2 back of a length slower again from Meredith, Silk tries to smash this down the leg side, gets a top edge but falls in no man's land, enough time to return for a couple
Akshay: This is poor bowling from Meredith and some excellent batting display by Silk. And it's a No Ball. Are we up for a miracle here?
19.3 Riley Meredith to Jordan Silk
NB6 SIX of a no ball, thats huge in the context of the game, full toss on the leg stump and all SIlk needed was to put bat on ball, deposits this well over the deep fine leg boundary for a huge six
19.2 Riley Meredith to Jordan Silk
2 back of a length slower, Silk tries to thrash this down the ground, doesn't get the middle of the bat, down the long-on region and has enough time to scamper for a couple
