Sajid Khan is another product of tennis ball cricket who ground himself well, before starting to play with the hardball. Hailing from the city which produces some greats of the game like Umar Gul, Yasir Shah and Younus Khan. However, unlike the formers, Sajid Khan is an off-break bowler, who made his first-class debut in the 2016-17 season.

The off-spinner picked 13 FC wickets in his maiden season and since then he has been the go-to bowler for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He played 10 Quaid-e-Azam games in the 2018-19 season and scalped 31 wickets at 23.21. The following year, the offie picked 25 more wickets at 24.96. However, his breakthrough came during the 2020-21 Quaid-e-Azam when Sajid had 67 wickets in his bag.

Due to his exceptional performances, Sajid Khan was named to the squad for the home series against South Africa in 2021, but he wasn’t lucky enough to make his debut then. A couple of months later, Sajid was included in the squad for the Zimbabwean series, to make his Test debut. In his debut match, the spinner went wicketless. He returned in the next match to break two wickets on a rank-turner.

Apart from being a quality off-break bowler, Sajid is a gritty lower-order batsman who has a century to his name at the domestic level. However, Sajid Khan will hope to make a mark at a higher level as he can be an asset for the future.
