Player Bio

A left-handed batsman, Mark Cosgrove batted with a lot of freedom and played mostly red-ball cricket. He is a former Australian player who featured in just three ODIs in his entire career.

A natural power-hitter, Cosgrove’s international career was shortened due to his fitness issues but played a lot of domestic cricket for South Australia and Tasmania. In the later parts of his career, the southpaw played in the County circuit for Leicestershire

Cosgrove made his first-class debut in 2005 and stockpiled runs in the Sheffield Shield for a couple of seasons and was named as the 'Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year' in 2005. His impressive run earned him his maiden international call-up against Bangladesh in April 2006. Three months later against India, he played his third and final ODI. Sidelined from international duty, he returned to the domestic circuit and scored runs on a consistent basis.

Cosgrove also played three seasons of county cricket with Glamorgan and made his highest first-class score of 233 for them against Derbyshire. A respected and popular captain, he became a big personality when he signed for Lecisetershire in 2016 on a three-year deal. His international career did not go beyond three one-day internationals for Australia in 2006, but his spell in Leicester has been fulfilling, scoring over 7000 runs in all formats for the club.
