Player Bio

Aamer Yamin was supposed to be the next big thing in Pakistani cricket when he made his international debut in 2015. However, limited opportunities have somewhat put his international career on hold.

A right-arm medium pacer, and a handy lower order batsman, Yamin rose through junior level circuit and played under-19 regional tournaments in 2008.

Yamin shot to fame in the 2013-14 domestic season, where his all-round abilities were witnessed by many. Young Yamin scored 700 runs at an average of nearly 58, and also registered 32 wickets at a staggering average of 24.18.

Playing at the international level requires a bit of luck, and the fast bowler was lucky enough when he got the opportunity to be in the Pakistani ODI squad to face Zimbabwe in 2014. Anwar Ali failed to clear his fitness test and as a result, Yamin was called up as a last minute replacement for Ali.

He had a great start to his international career, scoring a vital 62, in only his second ODI and also was electric in the field, helping his team save crucial runs.

But despite a good debut series, Yamin was ignored for the next two years, and he finally made his comeback against the World XI side in 2017.

The all rounder has also played T20 franchise cricket in Pakistan. He was a part of the Lahore Qalandars, in the second edition of the PSL. Currently he plays for the defending champions, Karachi Kings.

Once compared with Abdul Razzak for his sheer ability to take the game away in a flash, Yamin now struggles to find a place in the national side.
